Thanks Ric, I stress it is one of the possibilities, it did surprise them a bit than when they found that the heart had not changed since the last time I had it checked out. So the question is what caused it, as you say it might be something else, but it seems strange it did start not long after I had my 3rd shot. The good news is that they found out what it was, and are treating with drugs, which seems to be settling things down.
It was remiss of me not to think of that when I was posting Chazz, though I wasn't fully aware of his circumstances. I had sent him a P.M some time ago and we got discussing various things, one of which was alcohol but I wasn't fully in the loop...So,God bless him,we had a couple of tussles over the years but nothing that wasn't sorted and water under the bridge and we shared a love for the guitar. May he rest in eternal peace.
Banned from alcohol, cigs and fatty foods. My consultant reeled off a list of things I shouldn't have, alcohol, red meat, cheese, etc etc When he finished, I said you'll be telling me next I'm not even allowed heroin. He just laughed, so I'm assuming it's probably okay jack up every now and again.
Christ, red meat and cheese would possibly be more difficult than the booze. What you really need to do is find something that makes not drinking a lifestyle choice. Adventure sports are good no matter your age.
I could give up booze tomorrow but I think I’d really struggle with giving up certain foods. Good luck OLM
I had to go gluten-free. Beer, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, baguettes smothered in fancy cheese.... it's like my dietary preferences have been surgically attacked!
My neighbour eats plenty of fresh veg, and thinks he had a healthy diet, not sure if the bottle of vodka he drinks per day forms part of a healthy diet?
i'd guess a spike in myocarditis and pericarditis in and after 2021 would hint at a connection. i wish all those suffering the best possible outcomes.
Just on my way back from a session in Doncaster With some old work mates , the usual a few too many and talking Bolloxs with some of the old crew . I certainly would not have enjoyed today without partaking in alcohol . But I am now at a stage of my life where given a personal preference I can take or leave alcohol. It’s the next day or two with the overhanging lethargy I can do without .
Funnily enough, I’ve decided to try no alcohol for August, just to prove that I can, my real downfall however, is chocolate. I’ve tried cutting down, which I have, but some days, I just crave more than I did when I cut it out. It’s weird all round.
It can only have been caused by vaccinations, I mean, it's not like anything else was happening at the same time.
Drinking socially is great fun - the social lubrication of North Europe. You make friends, share adventures and get laid (at least, you did before social media). I drank regularly (two weeks on/two weeks off due to offshore work) between the ages of 16 to my early 40s. Went from a lager and shots person in my teens to nice red wines and whisky over that period. Then I knocked it on the head and although not teetotal, pretty much quit. Health reasons, two friends died who were functioning alcoholics, it destroyed my sleep and made me irritable and other personal reasons. You certainly lose connection with some friends, pubs become boring after 30 minutes and the stink doesn't fade into the background and weddings and wakes drag on, but.... More energy, better sleep, longer days, extended life, all round health, lower tolerance to unimportant things and more money and time - just have to find the pastimes to fill it. Quitting has made me a better father. There's probably a happy balance somewhere that many walk, but a lot of us don't find it.
Cheers much appreciated, things seem to have settled down with the medication, so hopefully it is under control.
