I am inclined to agree with this. Being coached by Poch would be perfect and I feel Chelsea are now a team finding their way back. As far as Liverpool are concerned, I have a sneeky feeling they will finished behind the likes of City, Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal this season,.
Given Chelsea’s transfer business under Boehly I’m surprised they didn’t just pay what Brighton wanted to begin with. But to get outbid by Liverpool must damage his ego. What a mess this whole thing has been. Feel a bit sorry for Lavia in all this. Led along for months, used and now just looking like a backup option for whoever doesn’t get their first choice.
Lavia will just end up at Chelsea I’m more concerned with Brighton having loads of cash, we have a couple of players who fit their model and now they could come in for them. Hopefully we stick to our high valuations and it puts them off. Can see KWP ending up there as I can’t think who their right back is? Veltman and Lamptey?
This guy's just a twat. He's not a massive upgrade at all. I mean he is better at the moment but Lavia will be better in the long term. Liverpool using the media to brag they've got the best player. Pricks the lot of them.
It does make more sense for them though. They need someone who can slot in and play every week and there's more risk in that regard associated with Lavia. I just hope he does get a big move. Otherwise we might get a reputation for being difficult to deal with which stopped a youngster getting their dream move. Which I don't particularly care about but might damage our model somewhat.
I don't think it necessarily damages the model. If players become nervous coming to Saints, there are numerous clauses that can can be negotiated into contracts. ABK has a 25m release clause for example.
Nah he’s a twat, Caicedo at 21 will definitely be way worse than 19 year old Lavia despite being better atm
There is no way he is twice the player. Or more than twice as the fee suggests. He simply isn’t. But they have to convinces themselves he is before they really look at how much they have actually spent. The ego boost of outbidding Chelsea helps Interestingly we had a Liverpool fan on here talking about how they usually pull out when another club is involved - likely for this reason - when there is you get mugged off. They have paid more for him than Jude Bellingham. Which everyone knows is nonsense. They also would have gone mad (with anger) if they had paid what arsenal did for Rice earlier in the window. Indeed they were probably among the people laughing at arsenal getting mugged by West Ham in paying as much as they did Look beneath the surface of this as you actually see a message of “Liverpool sold all their defensive midfielders with no plan and so got mugged off into massively overpaying”. Which is really odd because loads of Liverpool fans online were crowing about not overpaying for Lavia. I expect the same ones are saying the opposite now
https://www.astamfordbridgetoofar.c...ei-chelsea-leicester-city-loan-news-transfer/ Another good signing for Leicester.
Yeah true but then that always places a limitation on what we get. I suspect if Lavia doesn't get a big move then most prospective signings will insist on one.
Why would we not keep to them? And valuations for some might go up. If Caicedo is 110m then what does that make Alcaraz worth? Attacking players usually go for more. Granted this is reduced by the risk of players kicking off at not being able to move to the PL
