The negativity is more due to what led us to this in the first place. A horrendous chain of events that a huge number of posters on this board alone predicted would happen the day we sacked Poch and replaced him with his footballing opposite.

Your last sentence caught me by surprise, though. Didn't think I'd ever see the day.

There is no plan at this club and there hasn't been for years.

The past never matters for decisions. Sacking Poch was wrong but we will never know if keeping him would actually have turned out better.

I have to say. Bayern are a gigantic institution, but they've had a horror show this window.

Their primary targets (Rice, Havertz, Raya, Kane, Walker, de Gea etc) don't appear/don't want to be joining them. It reflects so poorly on them that such a big club aren't getting the players they want. The jobs of their negotiating team need to be under serious threat.

The plan is entirely obvious. Grow the finances as fast as possible and spend all the money on players. We've made the mistake of not hiring the right sort of manager for Spurs type football but at least that has tested whether it was our style that was leading us not to win trophies.

    Only for pathetic hacks.
And as they don't affect a single minute of what
happens on the pitch, who cares ??

    Not at all.
They are wealthy, but not state-funded nor a Sugga Daddy FC.
Similarly they do not have the "glamour" image of Madrid or Barca.

Therefore to get a player such as Kane to join them is going
to take serious money (more so when the club is Spurs) .
Money of the like they are not accustomed to spending.

They hardly spend any money as it is on transfer fees (relatively speaking) and most of their signings are either free or opportunistic deals. They were willing to offer Kane £485k p/w, which is more than most of the state-funded/glamour clubs pay their players.

They may not be accustomed to spending large, but that's because they usually bully the likes of Leipzig and Dortmund for their players. They have the means to pay more. They win the league every year, huge fanbase, feature every year in the CL and monopolise the share of the TV/media rights in Germany. They may not have a bottomless pit of cash, but they're hardly paupers.

Of course it's massively in Kane's financial interests to stay. Bayern are laying out about £200m to get him for 4 years but Kane gets less than half. One year later he should still be worth an outlay of £150m but can pocket the lot. And he can choose a PL club and still chase the scoring record.

Find it all a bit boring tbh...can't watch any spurs matches (live or highlights) without it being mentioned.
Anyway ... as it looks possible that he'll stay it looks like he's off on a free next summer

Sky want him to stay (for now), they have another 21 days of the transfer window to fill with stories, if Kane to Bayern is done and dusted what are they going to talk about!

I thought that they were going to hit this window all guns blazing.
They barely scraped the title last season on the last day, due to Dortmund bottling it.
I expected that to put a fire under their collective arse and for them to push on.

Early Bosmans on their rivals pointed to my feelings being correct.
Subsequent moves haven't followed up on that early promise.

Do not forget the last 4 seasons have been WITH Harry Kane and I would not want to live through them again. Far too much importance is placed on one player even though he is one of the world's best. This is a team game and IMO our squad looks better than it has for the last 4 seasons. Plenty of young talent a midfield creator, the promise of another CB to go with VdV and Romero. Negativity is the norm for Spurs fans but I always look forward to the new season with excitement. Often it's misplaced, as it was with Conte and Mourinho but at least we know what makes the major difference! The right manager or losing a star player. You all know that our team improved when we lost Bale and Modric. Not because they left, obviously you would prefer to keep players like that as we would with Kane, but because the club knew they had to rebuild. If Kane leaves they will know that he's not there to bale out a poor team performance therefore they will have to invest in the team if they want to live up to their stadium and their aspirations AND their financial needs.
There is always a bright side to any situation and I prefer to find that.

Exactly and tbh I'm quite relieved another club is taking our place as a soap opera. I've lived that life it's not fun and I recognise what you're going through that's all.
