As soon as JWP's 19th freekick goes in, he goes down, clutching his ankle/knee/thigh, is substituted, and does not play for West Ham again. He then decides that claret isn't his colour, West Ham put him up for sale in January, and Saints buy him back, at a considerably reduced fee, as JWP clearly has career-ending injuries. JWP then visits Lourdes, undergoes a miraculous recovery, and recommences playing for Saints, creating the Championship all-time freekick scoring record, whilst helping Saints back to the Premier League. Maybe I should wear a hat when I've been sitting in the sun...
Whereas Jacob Steinberg, a reliable West Ham source, says it's pretty much a done deal to Saints. I think I know who I believe.
