    Oh go on then

Doubt we’ll play them off the park like that again but a 1-0 will do

Originally a village called Escafield, called from the river name Sheaf (from Old English sceað 'boundary') + Old English feld 'pasture', 'open country'. This site later became home to a castle that was built by Norman lord William de Lovetot in the 12th century.

It was allowed to describe itself as Yorkshire, after Derbyshire rejected it.

There are two football teams of note in Sheffield. one is the world’s oldest football club, Sheffield F.C., and the oldest football ground is Sandygate, owned by Hallam FC in Sheffield. The first competitive game played at the ground was against Sheffield Football Club on 26 Dec 1860.

Enormous game this, for so many reasons.

I really do think our season and short-term future could go one of two ways. I honestly believe the ingredients are all there for a great season and future but the way the tide is against the team at the moment I worry it'll never be realised.

We as fans have a massive role to play in this one. The atmosphere will make a big difference. Please do not underestimate that. Wednesday will definitely be hoping to get us to turn on our team, we absolutely need to resist that. Be better fans than that. We've had all the debate about tactics and Rosenior and all the rest of it but please on matchday put that to one side in the interest of winning the game. He's not going to change the tactics, he really isn't. So stop expecting that and don't set yourself up for disappointment. Give em a clap when they do successfully pass out and be understanding if and when it doesn't work. Feign understanding if necessary. Go into it backing us, encourage the team and do your bit to help us win. If we sing our hearts out and still lose then by all means come on here and moan about it, but we have to support the team inside the ground. We will be a huge factor in our home form this season.

If the players put in some effort the crowd will get behind them, if they stand still scratching their arses and picking their noses they will get grief from the crowd. It's in their hands.

They won't lack effort. Don't go into it with suspicion that they will, because if that's what you're looking for then you'll probably see it. Just on matchdays we need to forget about judging everything and support them. Support shouldn't be conditional from minute 1. The place needs to be rocking before kickoff and throughout.

We might well struggle to create. That is likely in fact. We have to be hardy enough to continue to support through that, that's when they need us most in fact. If your support is conditional on us walking over them then it's no use. We can be much better, we have a history of being much better than that.

We're all passionate. Channel the passion into shouting and singing in encouragement. That will make us more likely to win. Shouting at Ingram to boot it will only make us less likely to win.

You’re preaching to about 20 odd people, several of which, won’t be going, it’s the part timers, the newer fans, who were accustomed to us being in the PL, who’ve been talked into coming back by a Turkish Del Boy, they’re the ones that need to shut up!

I think it's the majority of the crowd to be honest, going by Tuesday night. A lot will be on here. There's thousands who view this board.

Fans probably won’t get on the team’s back if they play well and lose or draw. If we put in a good performance but are unlucky, that’s football.

You seem to be putting more onus and responsibility on the people who pay to support their team rather than the coaching staff and players who are paid to perform.

If we look bereft of ideas and Ingram is standing on the ball for several minutes at a time looking for someone to pass to, supporters will react negatively. It’s entirely down to the coaching staff and players to offer a response to the ****e they served against Norwich and Doncaster.

No football fan in the world wants to see their team’s goalkeeper with the ball at his feet for minutes with his arms wide apart because his teammates aren’t making space for themselves to receive the ball, especially when losing or drawing against weaker opposition.

I think it’s insane to expect 15,000+ people to just sit there and continue to be enthusiastic when that happens. I’m not one for booing but supporters have always voiced their displeasure in the ground at **** football by their team since time immemorial. It’s not a uniquely City thing either.
