Probably a scheme we cooked up with Southampton, I dont think its serious. I think we are doing it in an attempt to make Brighton panic and think we are seeking Caicedo alternatives, and Southampton want to try to make Liverpool panic and increase their bid for Lavia. Frickin childish games.
Yeah I dont think one good season in the PL makes someone all of a sudden worth £100m. Not when we could have gotten Lavia AND Olise for £90m total. Two players who are pretty much, at least imo, on a par or thereabouts with Caicedo and would cost £10m less. But thats football these days, and in particular the PL.
Indeed, one of whom (Lukaku) we cant even give away. We were on the verge of getting a decent deal for him from Juve, but their ultras keep holding protests saying they dont want him near their club. Not that I can blame them, the guy is up and down more often than a pogo stick.
If it becomes a bidding war we simply wont get involved and waok away. Its the fsg way, ptetend to buy someone then claim hes too expensive but we tried innit. ****s
I think Aston Villa make it 8 tbh... they're going for it now and expect they'll do better than Newcastle and Tottenham this season
You had to cash in, mate. It makes zero sense keeping him for one more season just to let him leave for eff all. This way, you get a say in where he goes too. You will miss his goals, and may drop out the top 10 like we did last season, depending on how well Levy spends the money (IF he spends the money). But imagine if he had left on a free next summer and walked into Man United, or worse (for you), and came to us here at Chelsea! Shipping him off abroad for a huge fee was always gonna be the best outcome for you guys.
