Good player with bags of potential but surely we need to sort out the RCB/LB conundrum before paying out another £50m on a striker while we have Wilson, Isak up there with Gordon and Joelinton who can act as cover.

On the evidence of that video he's better than the lot. I stopped listening to Howe when he said nothing was close while Barnes was landing on a plane.

You're probably right though I doubt Newcastle will bring a midfielder or a fwd , but they're missing that wow signing imo.
 
I think the way we are structured is one or two big player signing per window or per season, we’re gradually adding quality every season to the point that within another 2-3 years it will just be a quality squad.

Botman, Trippier, Bruno, Tonali (hopefully), Isak.

Then we have a group of good players.. Pope, Joelinton, Wilson, Almiron, Barnes, Gordon, Willock

I can see how they’re doing it, quality over quantity. Look at this squad in 3 years & i guarantee it will be a regular top 4 quality team.

Did our transfer team drop their notebook somewhere and it was handed to Villa?
Don’t see him as a priority for us and doesn’t score enough ( in a proper league)

They've done or are doing what I'd expected Newcastle to do. I thought Newcastle would go for it now, but I guess they're happy to fall back while revenues increase.

Newcastle are just not quite doing enough to stay relevant this season.

Guess we have to wait a few years until Newcastle can crank it up.
 
Villa are probably the team who irritate me the most out the whole PL, followed closely by Everton. They just seem to pop up everywhere, I bet the ****ers do us on Saturday. Got a £50 on it. Watkins seems to turn into Pele when we play them.

Horrible team to open the season against.
