He is a free agent he’s already left.

Remember the lad taking a massive pay cut to go United on loan.

You probs right out of pay structure but he’d be a beast in championship.

On a free so no transfer fee to write off the books as he ages and because of his injuries reckon he’s not on a stellar wage either. Paying good money for a player whose value is only going to go down over course of their contract is the bit that doesnt make business sense.

This is where you normally have the business end of the window. Deals higher up in the league will start to filter down to our level. There'll be a knock on effect when other deals get done

Alexander Aravena is not for sale... for now: the European offer for 'Monito' that was rejected by the UC

The 'Monito' does not move… for now. Alexander Aravena , UC promise and figure , continues to attract the attention of clubs around the world for his good performance on the field.

This time, from Russia, specifically from the famous CSKA Moscow . However, the 'crusade' leadership rejected the operation https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias...-por-monito-que-fue-rechazada-por-la-uc.shtml

All for signing kids. Improving them snd selling for profit. But… we have 2 19 year old striker and a crocked senior striker. Who is bringing these kids on? Who are they learning from on the training ground? How to position your body. Use strength. How when where to make your runs. Dark arts. Only an experienced striker can show them this. How are they going to improve with nobody to show them?

    QPR in Batth chase
QPR are keen to snap up experienced centre half Danny Batth from Sunderland for their shaky back line https://t.co/ZxOc6VcP8K

I think Seelt will be class btw. If we could just get our centre backs fit (Alese included) I think we could prosper without Batth. If I was confident we would invest in a first choice striker, and an experienced holding midfielder, I would support losing Gooch, Batth and Pritchard as a trade off. I just don’t want to see those 3 leave and no additions. I like Pritchard but can see the benefit of an experienced CDM and letting Bellingham/Rigg/Dack play more minutes in front of an experienced holder.

Yep. That's probably close enough to the nub of it.

But, like us, he would be being reasonable in expecting a striker with some experience in. It is not as if this situation has leapt at us out of the blue. We got away with it in League One when Stewart played all the games, and last season to an extent.

But one gane means nowt. Nor will two. The old idea still holds for me; have a good look after about ten games.

Worth saying that TM will not need to work. Not for money anyway, and he said just that towards the end of last season, albeit I another context.

Any half decent coach can show them to be honest. It isnt that difficult to coach strikers to be fair. If they have the natural finishing ability, you can coach movement, body shape, decision making. If Hemir or Mayenda can finish first time, the rest can be coached.

This all erupted last night after Nick Barnes was on the radio passing on some musings. It was all his own imaginings. All of a sudden we have major fallouts, people claiming nothing is rosy behind the scenes, Mowbray demanding a list of his targets be signed etc etc.

Today all I read is Mowbray being sensible, normal and motivated. I cant see any outward signs at all of a problem behind the scenes. Players look happy and committed. Mowbray doing his media work no bother. In his own words the recruitment team have worked miracles and need to be trusted. Absolutely business as usual as far as I am concerned.

3 weeks left for the squad to be finalised. 1 striker and 1 cm a must. Plenty of other teams need more than that.

I am disappointed we are out of the cup. But too much has been said off the back of a journalist radio musing and it has overshadowed Chris Rigg becoming our youngest goalscorer and youngest league cup goalscorer. That in itself is cause for a single malt or two. Little bit of SAFC history last night. Times are good for us.
