Same here. Then I agreed with Martin; his luck had to run out sometime.

My first thought was "please be Vettel". When I realised it was Vettel I started cheering, then pointing at the screen and laughing.

I continued to do this for the next few laps (not continuously) - but that was partly due to Alonso's excellent first lap.

Yeah some members here (no naming names) said Hamilton would crash with Vettel and all that nonsense of I feel it and other rubbish. My first thought was to slap myself because I didn't believe he could get a puncture that early. Not for one second did I think it was funny but I was made happy by it.

i thought Lewis had touched him too, we didnt really get to see his exit very well as we saw Rosberg and co running wide so i thought he must have got a poor exit and then a tap from Lewis! :p thats my honest thoughts

My first thought was no! Followed by hope he can continue for some overtake naggers to shut up, to then being a bit sad to not caring as he already is the world champion.

But I did laugh hard when Lewis said this was a turning point in his career. Got somebody to puncture Sebs tyres or something?

Brundle is right, it's a hollow victory since nobody else had the car to challenge him.

It was a Seb win again after that first corner since he left Lewis in the dust.

'since he left Lewis in the dust.'
The car accelerates not the driver. Its the RB that's special.

And who is in control of that launch? Seb...

Funny how Alonso was keeping Lewis honest the whole way in a clearly faster car, sorry the McLaren saved his backside, not his talent AGAIN!

Launch is over after 20 metres.
right - so Hamilton presses the throttle less well than Vettel - have you ever driven a car, mate. Dreamer.

Don't you need to push the brake pedal when you reach the corner or did you forget that even exsisted? Have you been able to not kill anybody on the road yet or are you typing on a computer in prison for dangerous driving?

Lol it's funny how hostile everybody has become after 1 race DNF for Seb with a Lewis wins and the power shift comes into my face with vengeance with a bunch of backstabbers.

    ABSOLUTE CLASS BERGKAMP!!!

Remind me of a certain Mr Vettel. Isn't the tactic, drive as fast as you need to to preserve your tyres?

<laugh> A bit presumptuous isn't it. No point doing 300km races then, just have a start and one corner and that's it.

I must have missed that breaking Vettel did before his tyre blew.
Note to self: must look for brake lights in the next GP.

No offense Silver it's just that your point is bollocks !!!

He has a point though. Vettel had already overcome the faster car in qualifying and if Hamilton could barely defeat the vastly inferior Ferrari, he wouldn't have stood a chance of Vettel.

Before you say that Hamilton was just cruising and managing everything, look at the gap between him and Alonso. A 2.5 lead on lap 1 thanks to Alonso being forced to drive defensively, but after that he couldn't extend his lead until Alonso hit traffic. With such a small lead, a slow pitstop would have cost Hamilton the win - McLaren and Hamilton would not take such a risk if they had the pace to build a more comfortable lead.

I'm pointing out the fact that Seb did a great start and pulled a gap within the first 2 corners. Lewis was saved by the tyre puncture, hollow victory.

And the last time I checked, wasn't the McLaren and the Ferrari better at starts, OH YEAH!!!!
