I'm sure every supporter would like us to sign more players ...

... it's just tedious wading through endless posts about 'the Stewart situation'.

My phone has started predicting 'situation' if I write Stewart.

Surely that means if all the clubs are after that one class striker it comes down to the owner with the biggest wedge and the biggest bottle or simply just do without.

Hypothetical question here because we are all bored and clogging this thread up isn't annoying at all (is it?)....

... if Stewart did suddenly sign a new contract here, would people feel at least a bit better?

I know we need another one to cover until he's back.

Yep - this is why I think its unlikely we get a striker that seems an obvious pick. Because if they're obvious, somebody else in the championship willing to take a bigger risk will be in the front seat.

I don't mean that to knock the club. More fool the ones taking the risk. It doesn't always work out.

I can 100% guarantee if you don’t take a risk it will definitely not work out<laugh>

People always overreact after a defeat like.

The striker situation is a mess though so I guess I understand people complaining about that.

I meant a risk on paying too much. We don’t have to take a risk at all. (Obviously all transfers are risks)

i understand totally why people are worried pissed off.

Might just be me but if someone’s made a valid point I’ll give them a like and not feel the need to say the exact same thing myself! never mind seeing people all make the same points over and over and over.

I would be delighted. However I am not feeling sad at the moment. I would rather be us than the majority of championship teams right now. A fit again Stewart is not far off the best striker in this league. We will also have our pick of premier league loans at this level to add to him. Amad will be back too I feel. Cherry on a very tasty cake Stewart.

But we still have three weeks left of the window!

Or, to put it another way, three weeks until the same time of year that we brought Amad in last year.

To be quite honest I never go to friendly games , I never go to league cup games , because when you make as many changes even against minnows you feel let down and demoralised . I have supported SAFC since the early sixties and when it happens I think what did we expect when we get beaten as we were against Crewe , by all means make a few changes to the side - but ten is taking the proverbial ! Supporters should be given their money back due to being shortchanged by the club or advised in advance that we are putting a reserve team out same as at Hartlepool with the same result !

Odion Ighalo is a free agent currently.

Been playing in Saudi so he’s banked his money already, scored 32 in 40 over there.

That’s surely the kind of ‘experienced free agent’ we should be looking at.

only outsiders will think he’s banked his money. He’ll want more. No way he leaves that kind of salary to come here.
