My guess for this would be either young players (McAtee?), free transfers (Tom Davies type perhaps? ) or players surplus to requirements (Holgate). They can all afford to wait for the right set up/move and will be easy to negotiate with the club. The longer the window goes on the less likely Grimes/Piroe become in my opinion, and the more we'd have to pay. It would leave Swansea in a stinker of a position and unless Martin has verbally had a 'I'll wait' I just don't see how we would have had official conversations with those players about joining without Swansea's permission.

Ah Prowsie, just like the rest of them. Really hoped he would be different and become a club legend but apparently not. Nothing wrong with what he is doing by the way. Football careers are short and he clearly doesn't value his loyalty to Saints above spending a season out of the top flight and a chance, albeit very small, of playing for England again.
Bree will be fine for the Championship. Mara is young and needs a season out on loan. The rest I agree with. Think we'll likely have to loan quite a few out and subsidise their wages.
Yes but he wasn't 20 when we signed him. I know Mara may end being a dud but we can't give up on him just yet.
That was never going to happen realistically though once he got an offer. I'd highly doubt that'd happen even for a player who was from the City and grew up supporting us. Would never see it for those outside of that.
He’s a dud. No strength, no tactical awareness, first touch not good enough. Just floats about without impacting a game. Potentially could be a winger cutting in from one side, but I don’t know if he has the pace. I really don’t understand what the scouts saw in him. I think he is a terrible footballer
