I do agree mate, will have discussed. But I highly doubt that was the main topic of discussion straight after tonight’s game.
It's very specific, and I would presume there would have been more than just Hunter in the room. See if any others report it as that being said.
Surely you would do the presser then have a discussion. I very much doubt Speakman and Tony have sat and had a nice little friendly chat over a glass of wine..."I will do the presser after, no worries". I reckon it's been a heated discussion this....imo.
Exactly mate. Speak to the press and then talk about transfers after. They’re not going to make any active progress tonight now, are they? Obviously bull.
Mobray is a genuine football legend. Captain at the age of 22. Speakman is just another Methven -- w/o the 5% stake and a proper education.
If we’re going to have a discussion, keep it genuine. Speakman has done a great job thus far, but the model needs more flex. To compare him to that smarmy prick is a joke.
Looks to me like somethings been said tonight....ultimatum maybe? We're either looking for a new manager, or there's a new striker incoming.
Methven wasn't a Sporting Director, just a Speakman-like, dissension-creating arsehole. Charlie Wyke was a warrior for the club: he scored 25 goals while heading away many/most of the opposition's corner kicks and was Player of the Year.
It’s obvious that Mowbray is desperate for a striker and went straight to Speakman to talk about it. I think it’s a bit dubious to imply something serious is happening because his voice was hoarse. If Speakman brings in an experienced striker by the end of the window, it’ll be a case of nothing to see here. He does need too, mind. I’m on board with the comments that we can’t keep buying young and inexperienced players. We’ve got enough of them, now. Let’s get some players who have had at least 18 months playing week in week out at a decent standard.
Speakman has done a great job overall but for 3 seasons in a row we have had a striker problem and until he sorts that he is fair game. It was our number one priority. We all knew it and Tony said it. He has signed players to make money on ahead of what we need and that disrespects the person trying to win matches and us.
I must be the only one who couldn’t see any problem at all with that interview, He was just saying it as it is. To much negativity going on in your head lads, sorry
Anybody else think our American Tour in all that heat has left some players a bit jaded and off the pace. Can't have been easy training and playing in those conditions. I know they're professional athletes but we haven't started the season well, or could it be more were missing Amad, we've had loads of possession but little cutting edge in and around the box?
Surely the Dack signing is flexing a bit though. I know these forums aren’t the be all and end all of our support but 2 defeats to start and another one without a proven striker is going to get a few on the wrong foot this season.
