Sitting on the fence with this "discussion" but we all know the answer to who would go between Speakman and Mowbray and I can't see it being the DOF. There needs to be some serious discussions between all parties and I would probably include KLD since he's in charge.
TM has done well, but he's made plenty of mistakes and he's the experienced one. His track record of promotion isn't anything to write home about either. Nothing wrong with the club looking at options if they felt TM wasn't happy in May as said.
All things considered and the bottom line is imo TM will for whatever reason be gone very soon. I think he will walk. But I still think he's being forced out and won't be sacked.
Yes this. I love "the model". My problem is that I don't think "the model" is being executed as well as it should be. Its all well and good coming out with the theory of how it works but execution is all that matters. And whilst results have been good so far (and the last 2 games don't change that) - I think there is tonnes of room for improvement in how we recruit. We seem to have skipped this season away from young players who are used to British football (Ballard, Ekwah, Alese, Cirkin, Hume, Huggins etc) to youngsters who have to adapt entirely to the culture. And as we've seen with Lihadji, Bennette, Dajaku etc - that's pretty fecking hard. The players we've signed all could be world beaters. But we've taken a huge risk in signing players completely unproven at any level anywhere near this from different footballing cultures.
Yeah I have to say it's not been great lately. There's a lot of negativity going about for this stage in the season. Not liking it.
Exactly. As head coach TM has less control but also less responsibility. Maybe lands at Speakman door for not getting right bodies in, may land at KLD for not supplying the resources that Speakman needs. Not always about losing job.
For me, even though we've brought some good youngsters in and with the likes of Lihadji, can sell on for a profit even when it doesn't work here but if you have an experienced coach such as Mowbray who knows what kind of league the Championship is and is happy to work with young players - you HAVE to listen to him imo if you want to progress and keep the top kids we have at the club to get promoted as quickly as possible
I for one won’t be spitting my fanny out after an unlucky loss and losing a cup game with a second string on penalties. I won’t say I don’t have concerns but **** me it’s like people have been waiting for a slip up to get the mood hoovers out. Let’s give the season time to breathe aye?
As much as I like the youthful squad you’re right we need that balance, unfortunately Evans is a massive miss in the middle of the pitch. Losing someone like Bailey Wright was huge for a young squad too, even if he’s not starting regularly. I’d be starting both Dack and Pritchard if they are fit enough at the weekend. Possibly Baath too but he seems a bit off currently.
Wouldn’t go that far like . I can’t imagine how bad it will be over there at the minute! (Don’t look on Twitter though, people are going nuclear as usual!) Loads of time to sort it out.
Tbh I couldn’t care less about the result. All about the Barnes thing for me. People can think what they like about that, but the fact he’s said it gives me alarm bells. Something is clearly not right.
Wait, what? I was led to believe that Barnes knew something was up. All he's said there is he thinks something is up based on stuff all of us already knew. He may well be right, but its purely him commenting on how Mowbray's mood has appeared in interviews etc
