Had high hope at the start of the transfer window did some good early business but things have stalled we are absolutely desperate for a proper goal scorer to lead the line That’s a poor result and sums up the team at the moment pass it around well but can’t score and let in very basic goals. We have some excellent players but time to start moulding them into a team
Surely he can only be let down once the window is over? He also has 3 strikers in the U21 and U18 and not a single one of them in the squad. Pritchard and Bennette have proven they can't play upfront.
It doesn’t sound good mind - Barnes would not say it without good authority. Then you consider the fact that someone has told him this and you ask who and why? Mowbrays quotes recently have been far more downbeat. Very concerning tbh
If something is going on then they need to sit down in a room together and hash it out until something is resolved. TM did an excellent job last season. He’s a local, experienced, and respected manager who has a good history at bringing through young talent. I honestly believe he is the right man for the job. This approach or enquiry about anyone else was completely disrespectful given how well TM, and the squad, performed last season under really tough conditions. Speakman has done an excellent job since he is come in, but if he, or anyone else, were involved in this enquiry then they need to own up to it in house, apologise, and move on.
TM alluded to it the other day when he quoted that they need to be aligned. I said it last window. To not get the striker situation sorted once... forgivable, to do it twice is stupidity. If its not sorted a 3rd time he's fkn doing it deliberately.
Because they are young boys who are not even close to the standard. Poor manager has been banging the drum long enough. Half a season last year and we are into this one without suitable tools. Not good enough and he is carrying the can. No the wonder he looks sick if his life.
And so the reputation of our club swirls around the LMA. We talk about trying to develop players but this cup is where they get games and we can’t pick a centre forward and beat Crewe. One centre forward issues for the third season running now. It needs sorting out. I’m pissed off about this striker situation. Arrogance.
Obviously poor result and not an ideal start to the season but we started last season with a draw n a defeat in the cup so not much difference To me the biggest concern is what is happening behind the scene, you can tell TM isnt happy every time he speaks to the media at the min - not a great look as players will feed off that negativity. It needs sorting ASAP otherwise we will be in trouble, they need to be on the same page otherwise changes will have to be made
I am certain if his first choice coach came up in the summer and if the fans didn't back tone, he would have pulled the trigger. Tone won't have long left IMO
Max Thompson shower enough at Gateshead he's a better option than Pritchard and Bennette!!! He was physical and mobile. I agree we need strikers through the door, but nobody has been let down until the window is closed.
He is a fine prospect and so is Zak they should have both started in a back three with Batth at least two of them have played together before. Something amiss at the mill imo.
We are all annoyed about it mate, theres still time for us to get one - my biggest concern is if our manager n director of football arent alligned then we are in trouble
