At that price he should be far better. No one seems to know what position he plays. Perhaps he is just another winger and we have plenty of those.

If I had a choice to get rid of 3 wingers I’d probably choose Rutter, Harrison and Poveda

Yes me too. Poveda looks good but has no end product. Plus he is very small looking like a kiddie playing against grown ups.

Back of a *** packet calculation of transfer fees to be charged to expenses for 23/24 seasom, i.e. being counted towards FFP, about 60m, less any loan fees received.

    Meslier 1m
    Kristensen 2m
    Llorente 4m
    Koch. 3m
    Arranson. 5m
    Adams. 6m
    Harrison. 4m
    Sinisterra. 6m
    Firpo. 3m
    Roca. 2n
    James. 6m
    Gyabi. 1m
    Costa. 3m
    Rodrigo. 3m
    Gnonto. 1m
    Wober. 3m
    Rutter 7m
    Ampadu. 2m

All I know is that every Championship club is meant to submit accounts to the EFL by the end of December (presume half year accounts plus 6 month projection).

The clubs relegated from the Premier League are exempt from this. Whether that means we get 6 or 12 months grace I'm not sure.

Now it used to be that if you had been in the Premier League for either one or two seasons (three seasons doesn't count), then the threshold was changed.

IE 1 year in Premier League and 2 years in Championship , you could lose under FFP a total of £61m (instead of £39m)

If you had 2 years in Premier League and 1 in Championship, you could lose under FFP a total of £83m (instead of £39m)

and its the same for a club being promoted to the Premier League, instead of being allowed the full FFP loss of £105m, its reduced to £83m and £61m respectively.

Now whether this is still valid (seen websites quoting this from 2015 season up to the above table published in June 2023, but I can't find anything that is actually official.

Given that the EFL want clubs to operate with outgoings being no more than 70% of revenue, but this has yet to be introduced, we are still left with historic data, unless someone else knows better ?

PS - So many sites I read (that I then have to ignore) that are to do with Sports Interactive Football Manager. Do people really need thousands of articles about how FFP affect a video game :D

60m is probably about right, no point arguing over the individual figures for players :)

This is also why it makes it difficult to assess how any one particular transfer affects FFP, because there are so many factors to take into account.

Presumably the parachute payments will cover this tranche of transfer fee payments that need to be made, which means that the rest of our income, will be to cover wages, and expenses, plus any player purchases.

So any sale of a player where the fee received is greater than the book value in the accounts will still have a positive affect on FFP.

Regarding FFP before the sale of Raphinha and Phillips, the McGuire bloke had written an article saying we could spend another £99m over three years.

    Adams to Chelsea

Due to FFP rules for Chelsea and concerns over Adams fitness they are thought to be discussing a loan with an option to buy.

No problem with that as long as the loan fee is decent and then there's a premium on the option to buy.

Let's say a total of around £30M (loan fee + transfer fee) if it becomes permanent next summer.

Funny how Chelski are so worried about FFP. Never bothered them before. Tell them to Foxtrot Oscar, Leeds! £20m up front. **** or get of the pot. I can't ever remember Chelsea taking a loan in before. They're at it! Out FFP is far, far more important to us than them. Hopefully another club will come in & fcuk them up royally.

The 49ers so far have done fantastically well to get Ampadu and Darlow for 8.4 million.

The evidence suggests they know what they are doing aroind the negotiating table. I trust them to do what's right for us if and when they negotiate with Chelsea. They will know the score by now. You lot are just guessing what FFP actually means for us.

Football is rotten to the core
Loans buying players on the never never promise to buy etc it’s all a load of shyte
Shouldn’t be allowed if a club wants a player then pay up front if not then do one, would go along way to sort the game out
    That’s what I think anyway
