    yup.

just need to get into the mindset of what's going to happen and that is that now.

anything else is a pleasant surprise.

sadly I'm fully expecting to see some every shell shocked players over the next few weeks so there's no point getting all wound up over it.

whatever else about lack of buying or whatever even Everton will have a defensive line that's discernable

I really don't understand your acceptance of mediocrity.

We are one of the biggest clubs in the world. We should expect excellence. Its not entitled, there's lads out there that will happily travel to outer *****lia to watch us play, we are not just a football club, we are a way of life, for so many people.

Just because we where ****ed by H&G it doesn't make fsg a god send.

**** me, we are liverpool, we should expect more

I agree, but the 2 go hand in hand really.

It was a big set back, so all the more reason for us to stop ****ing around and get their replacements in.

I think they've ran us very smart. There's no spiraling debt like there was with the administrations before. We're not tied-to a sugar daddy who, if ever left would leave us in massive trouble. If Chelsea, or City, or Newcastle owners just randomly stopped funding them, they would crash and burn before stabilizing. Being managed properly, we may not win as many trophies today, but the club isn't at risk of dropping out of the Premier League the moment a sugar-daddy gets tired and stops funding us. (the aforementioned clubs would have to have fire-sales to balance the books).

You said it yourself- we went from £300mil to £5bill worth. The clubs finances are bringing in a lot more money now, we've grown, we can afford more and still balance. Don't forget, a lot of our money is going into stadium investment- more long term financial planning rather than short-term gains.

You're right, they got lucky with Klopp. We wouldn't have won the Premier League with any other manager. Unfortunately, I also think he's a victim of his own success- our salary bills are higher now, we're less nimble in the transfer market. As Carragher says, he's got too much control and taken away some areas from the specialists.

Klopp is the blessing that won us... well, everything! He's also a bit of a mill-stone in some ways too, he's no longer accountable for mistakes because of his past success. Not a Klopp-bash, there's no other manager I'd pick before him, just acknowledging that there's downsides to Kaiser Klopp just as there are upsides.

As for whether we are in serious **** if Klopp leaves or not... I think that depends on who takes over. Our financial stability means we won't crash and burn... but we probably won't win anything for a while either.

We're stable under FSG and that to me is a good thing.

we are already in serious **** under klopp.

let's just be honest with ourselves. until we see an actual discernible actual defensive structure out of this set of players and management we have to be ready for the struggle ahead.

just dig in and hope really.

bags of talent in that squad bit little to no shape so far.

From what I understand, the most recent few rounds of contract negotiations they've dropped the performance based elements they used to have.

    Stable?

If that is the expectation, the limit of our hopes then I'd stop watching the games and just check that the club exists every season.

When did we stop being ambitious, when did we accept that being also rans was OK. When did we think being the net spends champions was a hood thing?

When did we accept that our owner making 4 billion profit without putting a penny in was OK.

If an employee earns £1000 p/w, the employer is probably paying £2000 p/w after taxes, insurance, etc. The wage is only part of what it costs to hire someone.

We're not going to be winning trophies this season. Simple fact. I can accept there are going to be some lean years between the prosperous years. As for serious ****? If finishing 4th is serious **** then... maybe... but I think we'll do a little better than last year, and maybe next summer we can finish what we started this summer.

We've won, what, a little more than half a trophy a year under Klopp, maybe 3/4 a trophy a year on average? If that is our stable, then yes... I'd rather that then a decade of dominance followed by sugar daddys' getting bored and abandoning our club and we turn into the new Leeds.

Wages are always given gross here so if someone is earning 200k a week would normally be before tax is applied etc.

milks point is a good one though.

we are playing a contract rate not an employee rate so medical insurance, pensions etc etc may or.may not apply.

I doubt we pay the medical insurance for their kids etc lol.

for an ordinary person who's not been screwed by zero hour contracts etc an employer will have to pay a pension and maybe medical and other extras on top of the base salary.

All true, but can I just point out 2 things though: the stadium developments were supposed to have been baked into the original purchase - that's what the then NESV and RSB told the High Court when Hicks had his "epic swindle" Trump fit. And it really benefits nobody except FSG if we're 'worth' $1bn or $10bn if they're not going to sell us or leverage our wealth to buy players. As you say, it's good we're not in Hicks & Gillette style debt (or our owners aren't - as we saw in 2010, that actually helped to get rid of them), but I personally am getting a little fed up of FSG's main achievement is that they're not as bad as H&G: not exactly reaching for the stars, is it? :emoticon-0138-think
