Partially related to the Lavia and JWP situations - Tyler Adams has a 20m release clause and so far only chelsea have been linked despite Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham seemingly after central midfielders (Spurs seemingly needing to open up space in that position) Just seems odd. The latest chelsea link is that it would be in addition to Caicedo. Which also seems over the top. But they’ve sold Kante and Kovacic I guess
Plays centrally doesn’t he? So would he be one of the midfield three in our current system ? Can’t see why he wouldn’t be going back to Sheffield
I've assumed from the moment we went down that Lavia will be off, but if Liverpool decide £50m is too much then it looks like we may well keep him for another year. Lavia in the championship would be ridiculous.
Where's the hate? He's not our player anymore having jumped ship at the earliest opportunity. I feel no different to him then I do any other PL player.
Well "**** him" isn't exactly a good luck at Newcastle type of post! Agreed about the last part of your post though.
I think Lincoln is deeply scarred from last season. We need to give him time to heal, access to the board's top counsellor, and, maybe, some wine gums.
I'm grateful for the money but haven't seen enough of Tino to form too much affection for him, I wish him well though.
Not bitter, but I'm not going to wish him well either. This one feels slightly different to Lavia in that Lavia played well last season and has earned an opportunity. Tino sat it out was paid well for doing bugger all and then ****ed off as soon as he could. So there's absolutely no "good luck at Newcastle" type posts from me. But general consensus on here is that this is a great model implemented by SR and we should be really grateful these teenagers have graced us with their presence at our tiny tiny club for an entire season, maybe two. I mean who wants to win **** when you can just be a shop window for young players? I appreciate I'm in a minority of one on this and I should just learn to be grateful that SR are giving us this wonderful scheme
I do get where you're coming from but due to relegation, we literally HAVE to sell players due to EFL financial fair play rules. And the likes of Tino, Lavia, JWP, Alcaraz, KWP are going to be the players who will generate the most interest and larger transfer fees. We don't need to sell all of our best players and if that happens I may well jump into your boat but it is vital we meet the EFL regulations. The sale of Tino and most likely Lavia will surely ensure we meet them.
Your post is embarrassingly hypocritical. You say you're not bitter but then continue to slag him off. Can't believe you wrote that Tino decided to 'sit it out' last season. That's the thickest thing I've read in a long time. You think he was faking it? Or maybe he enjoyed having a career-threatening injury. What a doddle that must have been. Your second paragraph is drivel, not even going to expand on that. Just pathetic whinging.
Just a thought, but could Sports Republic simply 'transfer' some of our players to other (overseas) clubs within the SR umbrella, so that they are nominally no longer Saints players, but could be available at fairly short notice (eg in January), if Saints decide to move on other players? I've got to admit that this would be underhand dealing, but it's OUR underhand dealing, so that's OK.
I agree more with your view than Lincoln’s but it doesn’t say “decided” anywhere in the post. Just that he sat out. Granted that phrasing has implications of it being at least partially voluntary when it wasn’t.
