What's to disagree with ? We put out a virtual youth team yesterday which is a fact and so the list was to back up Farke's comments. If you don't think they're good enough then that's a different topic.
One thing I would agree with Wakey is how Gelhardt looked during his short cameo Poveda managed an impact in the same amount of time whereas Joffy seemed a bit all over the place, maybe that was because he was trying to get involved too much who knows. Just wanted him in the box ready to put the ball in the back of the net, however seems to have got the idea that he can operate as some sort of No 10 and link the play.
Afternoon all, Welcome back to the championship. 90% infuriating/10% exhilarating. A lot of positives from yesterday and the same obvious negatives. Hopefully the owners will have to back Farke sooner rather later now. One massive positive for me was the fact that despite Gnonto, Summerville & Sinisteera being linked with leaving this window they all gave it 100%. Either they are trying to stay in shop windows or they do care. Either way they could have trudged round the pitch yesterday and not tried the way they did. Would leave to see them all stay
Good afternoon everyone One of the stand out performances for me was Farke, he knew who and when the substitutions were needed, and also the way he appears to have got players to play as a team, also he must be a good man manager as Hemase said above, those players actually gave it 100%. I have not seen that kind of commitment since the early Bielsa days. i know the overall game needs improving but as your all saying one or two quality additions in certain obvious areas, we would be a formidable team, with a modern quality coach. just need the 49'rs to loosen the purse strings and let Farke get us back where we belong, with a bright future ahead of us.
Looks like Adams is likely on his way out so we will be needing another CM. We'll miss his break up play but based solely on that one game, i'm pretty happy with a Gray / Ampadu midfield, we just need more depth for a 50+ game season. Lewis O'Brien might be ideal. If we sell Adams a winger and possibly Firpo that should free up the funds for the areas where we're obviously lacking. I'm worried about us a fullback. Hjelde / Ayling did not look up to it. Byram / Drameh might be okay but one is currently injured and the other has spent most of his career injured.
I don't like running down players so usually avoid where possible, but one area we could make in instant improvement right now , is Darlow for Meslier, sadly Meslier seems to have totally lost confidence, and seems to have no command over his area at all, seems to just stand in the middle of his goal hoping the defence sorts it out, unfortunately if the ball heads either side of him it's in the back of the net, just sayin like
It certainly seems like a sale or two outbound is holding up the arrivals. I kind of want to hear Adams is leaving for £20m now as I feel it will free us to sign 2-3 of our targets and 2-3 additions to yesterdays team would create far more of an impact than Tyler Adams sitting in the stands on his mobile phone, hopefully we can find a buyer for Jack Harrison too. Sadly it would more than likely be Gnonto as according to Sky yesterday, the Italian national boss has told him he needs to be playing in the top tier to be considered for the national team
We paid £20m for Adams, so would need big money to make it worth while, as his FFP cost would be around the £16.5 - £17m mark
I don't know how it works but in my head (it's a strange place) I thought that the £55 million or so parachute payments were getting drained on payments paid out on the likes of Aaronson, Rutter, Wober, Adams etc. If we sell Adams, doesn't it free up that £20 million or at least part of it? Like I say, I don't understand the financial part of it all. Where are the parachute payments going?
That's why I think it's sky commentator bs. Let's face we are back to having to listen to the b team of commentators who know f all really
and under FFP rules, that would allow us to sign a £14m player with a 4 year contract, or a £17.5m player with a 5 year contract
I'm not doubting you @Aski as I genuinely don't get the FFP stuff (mainly because it's boring as ****) but those figures don't seem to add up at first glance.
