it was a light hearted rant...as you should be able to tell from the FM quote. but im sure i cant be the only person happy with the transfers this club undertakes, yes we occasionally get it right suarez and torres but the majority of transfers are substandard and over priced.
I'm guessing you're some kind of dinosaur yourself. You're stuck in the age of tabloid journalism and sensationalism. £20mil for this player, £40mil for that one etc. What wages were the likes of Cole, Aquilani, Meireles, Torres, Poulsen, Konchesky etc. actually on in addition to the transfer fee paid? - When you aggregate up the whole contract you should have an idea of where the money goes. Compare the whole deal fee with those for Adam, Henderson, Downing, Suarez, Enrique, Coates, Carroll. You'll get a better feel for the financial improvement the side has made. And who have we sold who had damaged the much vaunted pass-and-move tear'em-another-hole play you think you saw last season? But please feel free to keep on ranting
If you seriously think we're a laughing stock in the transfer market while the afore mentioned sides are good you need to think again. Every club makes clangers.... Veron, Bebe, Shevchenko, Crespo, Torres, Benayoun, Robinho... I mean how many years have arsenal waited to sign a decent keeper? Off the top of my head I can think of 15 decent transfers we've made... Reina, Enrique, Torres, Alonso, Garcia, Suarez, Macherano, Lucas, Meireles, Riise, Bellamy, Sissoko, Crouch, Cisse, Kuyt, Aurelio, Agger, Arbeloa, Skertl ... That's more than 15 without mentioning the youngsters coming through like Sterling, Pacheco and Suso
