Yeah it would have. For me anyway.

We had some much of the ball and Hemir wasn't running into the spaces or pushing the back line back with physical presence. He didn't drop for the ball , he really was a none player unfortunately. Maybe down to the occasion. We will have to adapt to his play style or he needs to get amongst it.

A fit Stewart in that team yday would have completely flipped the dynamics of the game and I am in no doubt we would have had the 3 points.

You're right, it was.....But without Amad and the lack of an experienced striker has caught up with us. That said, there was enough there to make me think when that hole is plugged we can have another good season....but the striker issue needs sorting asap

The club have openly said they're after another striker, you either believe them or you don't I suppose. I'm not sure anythings caught up with us, it was one game.

Don't think we played bad overall was just frustrated over the speed of attack, lack of balls in the box and shots from range. Think the call for an experienced striker and a few writing hemir off is a bit premature.

Disappointed Bennette never come one, especially during stoppage time as I think he would've added a bit of energy in to attack.

I've no reason to disbelieve them, but the striker situation has been on going since January....they need to deal with it asap. They have had long enough imo

After reading some posts on here and agreeing with some of them regarding striking options, there's one point no one's actually mentioned. After we got that goal back, we pushed Ipswich right back and we had 10 men on the pitch, we were denied a point right at the end by the woodwork and a good save. Yes there's things in the team that needs addressing but we're not that far off

It's small margins on occasions that decide games. It didn't fall for us this time but clearly shows the fight this team put up. In the past going down to 10 men and being 2 down we would have played to keep the score down. Not this lot. Just add those 2 or 3 key players and things will look so much better. We still not dipped into the loan market yet and I can see 1 or 2 top players coming in on loan

Okay, yes its early on in the season and if Bellingham's had scored the result may have different. Small margins yep.

However what cannot be overlooked are problems still unresolved from last year!

    We are poor from corners.

Only one game, but poor home form last season carried into this season, away form was better??

9 months and still striker paucity. Clarke and Ballard FFS.

Despite the loss we have something to build on... but surely last seasons hang-ups should have been sorted by now.

Still can’t work out Hume red in context. Tiny little touch on the arm, player throws himself to the ground. Robert’s fouled 5 or 6 times after that far worse, we didn’t even get a free kick?

Don’t think it impacted the result, but the complete imbalance on those decisions was as obvious as it was last season. Hume committed 2 fouls, 2 yellows, their full back committed 2 similar to humes first and got one yellow.

Strange subs too. I thought Hemir was doing ok. Some decent touches. Nice link up.
Thing I was most glad about was a lack of negativity from the crowd. Applauded the team at the end instead of the booing that would happen. Still loads on social media saying stupid negative stuff but hey ho.

Coventry, Boro and West Brom all lost as well, let’s not ignore this.

The crowd know these players don't give up, even with what happened during the game.

And? I just didn’t fancy us to beat Ipswich, at all. Disappointed we haven’t signed a single player who comes in and instantly improves us from last season.

Got in from the game last night devastated, came straight onto here for a bit of solace and thought I had been to the wrong game.

In my opinion, we weren’t ****e, not one of our players were ****e. We were the better team for 65 minutes but we failed to press home our dominance, goals win games, Hemir doesn’t look prolific (yet), Jobe missed a sitter, and Hume had a decent chance which they were lucky to keep out. All of which would have made the difference.
We did well with the players we had on the pitch. I thought Ekwah and Jobe were very good until Jobe tired, Dan Neil had a decent game, Dan Ballard had a real tussle with George Hirst, their first goal was very fortunate and helped by O’Nien chasing shadows in the box, Roberts stupidly gave the ball away and O’Nien lost Hirst for their second, Clarke and Roberts flattered to deceive when we were on top first half but were much better when Prichard came on and Hume stupidly gave the Ref a decision to make. I thought Hemir had a decent game dropping off and receiving the ball but his movement in the box was poor.

As I said previously reading the comments on here I thought I was watching a different game so I sat and watched it again and still think the same. I believe we were very unlucky and the better side for much of the game and if we continue to play like that we will win more games than we lose.

Think Hume got his second yellow for kicking ball away, may have got benefit of doubt for the tug.

Kick ball away is immediate yellow this season.

This is based on highlights, at the game thought it was a blatant yellow instantly.

I’ve noticed that when teams attack us their wingers seem to be very fast and get their crosses in quickly.
When we have the ball and get it out to Roberts and Clark they always slow down and get involved in multi player dribbles.
Whilst this is good to watch I would prefer them to get the ball in as quick as possible and avoid getting into so many tackles.
Maybe mix it up and sometimes put the cross in quickly, other times try to beat all the defenders.

The three midfield players in question Dan, Ekwah, and Jobe are fine , not perfect, but imo they were played in the wrong roles yesterday, and they are similar in style, , maybe they will work it out and combine , if so we will have some midfield, but it needs work, Pritch just like others (Embo and Gooch) look special coming off in off the bench ,but are they starters, I,m not sure. What I am sure off is we need a couple of strikers in quick.

I said something similar at the game. Our full backs play very narrow out of possession and give their wingers space to receive the ball and cross it. As soon as Clarke and Roberts got the ball there were 2/3 Ipswich players on them
