Hang on, you can’t have it everyway. You can’t say performances weren’t important and it’s all about fitness, then when we aren’t fit, question the opposition teams/style. What about Grimsby and Scunthorpe…..or was the performance poor cos they are the wrong side of the bridge ?
I dont think Galtassarys second team slowed down in the first half against us when they went 3-0 up..
Harry doing fine for himself in Dublin. Sofascore have him miles ahead of the other players for todays performance
Just returned from staying in Norfolk with Norwich fans so not had chance to review yesterday until now. I don't buy the above comments on fitness particularly as I felt our best 20 minutes were the last 20 and the Norwich fans said they would have taken a draw with 10 minutes to go. Although that might have partly reflected our subs - I thought Simons looked the part, unlike the other 4 in midfield yesterday. Firstly, the linesman was hopeless and he cost us that goal. We couldn't have complained if 3 down at half time but responded pretty well and matched them second half. Almost all our problems were in midfield. Neither Seri nor Slater do it for me as defensive midfielders - Seri can deliver a nice pass over 15 yards and is very calm (sometimes too calm) but he is slow, not strong enough and a poor tackler (apart from that...) and Slater much more effective as an 8 or 10. And Liam continues to play 'wingers' when we don't have a proper winger worthy of a place in the first XI. So we play Traore and Vaughan who again to me seem far more like 8s or 10s as 7s and 11s. I really think with the players at our disposal we'd be very well suited to 3-5-2 but it's not going to happen. Next Saturday already feels quite a big game - win it and yesterday will be forgotten. Lose it and a lot more questions will be asked about formation, tactics etc.
I believe that the new direction is that when the board goes up with the time added then that's set in stone of theres no goal or sub and as soon as the 5 mins ticked over and it went to a safe area I. E. The byline from where it was crossed then hee should have blown. I think our defenders didn't close down as they usually would as they thought the whistle was about to go - as that's what they'd been told the new guideline was. There were 3 or 4 marginal decisions that went against us for that goal, but ultimately we still needed to defend it. And we didnt
Wood's proving exactly why this partnership is going to be so useful moving forwards and also shows that young players need time. In his first few sub appearances, he was pretty poor, in one game especially he looked miles off it. Thankfully they've persevered with him (many clubs don't) and he's got a run in the side and is looking great. He's going to come back in November and be a lot closer to the first team than he was beforehand.
And about number 7 in the queue behind SERI SLATER SIMONS TUFAN TRAORE et al... which is why I was saying as someone who knows him and how hard he's worked, just why are they wanting to spend XXX on another midfielder.
In 12 months, how many of those will still be here though? There's definitely opportunities over the next 12-18 months
He's big, strong, athletic and technical. He's made for English football. I think him and Callum Jones still have a great chance of making the grade with us.
'Flat, unfit and struggling', in Connolly's case two out of three ain't bad. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Not really sure what I was trying to say, as ever. Oh hang on, it's all coming back to me now... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
You can **** right off with the next line of that! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
