I think there was a thread about this when the idea was started but couldn’t be arsed to look for it further down.

But how are people feeling about the amount of extra time now being played ?
Seems to be about 15+ mins if you include first/second half extra play.
I’m thinking it’s a good idea and penalises teams (like ourselves sometimes) who blatantly go out of their way to waste time later on in the game.
    Thoughts ?

I agree it’s a good idea, though it makes certain logistics tricky for me, especially for evening games.

But it will only be successful if it changes behaviour, and teams stop wasting time. I think it needs more than added time and bookings, clubs, and perhaps managers, need to be fined because they are the ones who tell the players to do it. People like Alex Neil and, if he really thinks ‘time management’ is clever and ‘professional’ Gareth Ainsworth, need to suffer for their sins.

I’m watching the Hundred Southern Brave v Super Chargers. No time wasted there. It’s a totally different game to what we were watching last weekend, especially the bowling. Not better or worse, just different. TV graphics giving me a migraine though.

I’ve had an interest bet on the Brave and the Invincibles. Not looking great at the moment but changes easily in this game

Im thinking it really might change behaviour once teams get into their heads that they really aren’t getting any advantage from what is often blatant time wasting. Will be interesting to see at the end of the season if it’s worked out like that.

The change FIFA, UEFA, FA should be making is ruled obstruction for shepherding the ball out of play…deliberately restraining an opponent from play a ball you or your teammates are not attempting to play. The would result in more deadball opportunities for the attacking team in the final third and not defensive throws or goal kicks.

The only way to cut this out would be time wasting to be recorded and those over a threshold to get points deduction, it's done in cricket with slow over rates. Genuine 'injury time' would not count. There are stats for everything these days so it can be done...

But then wouldn’t it subjective as to what is time wasting and what isn’t ? For example, who are we or even the ref to know if a player really is injured or if he’s play acting to waste time.

Time wasting has been getting worse and at least we something is being done to try and reduce it. Doing nothing won’t change it, so let’s see if by the end of the season the refs can get it right and teams react by giving us more football and less time wasting. I’m up for giving it a go.

Arsenal a big fan of it today ! Wait till the reverse happens to them, I'm sure Arteta will be less congenial

We have a fourth official at all league games I think - why don’t we just go rugby league and stop the clock in certain agreed circumstances and make sure that the real time remaining is visible to all the players and crowd….just like RL. If they are feigning injury, or taking a lifetime for a throw or goal kick, and the seconds aren’t ticking they might get the message.

You planning on getting the first train in the morning after an evening kick off?

I’d love the world to be organised for my convenience, and of course it should be, but I’m assuming Loftus Road will be a camping site after evening games. I’ll be in the bourgeoise glamping section of course.
