Gini played as a 10 and wide left for newcatsle, did ok for us in CM. Mount is not a wide player. He was **** there for chelsea. But he’s got an engine and is great presser - hence klopps like for him. Casemiro will be holding for united when they push on. Not sure why United need 2 holding players but no other club does.. most have 1 including us when we had Fabinho
He's been linked with just about every big English club over the last 2 years. Man U were favourites in the winter, but didn't end up going for him. Didn't have a great WC from what I remember, which probably put a few off him. But clearly there is something there Brighton are usually pretty good at this stuff, but this is more money than they would usually spend, so this is a bigger risk than the ones they've done before. Players from the Dutch league do tend to be 50/50 though.
wijnaldum started as a classic cm at psv and was captain for them in that slot. he was pushed on by newcastle. Mount started advanced by cheslea and stayed advanced. what you need is people who can actually put their foot in and actually track back.
Brighton are most attractive they’ve ever been to be fair so probably have never been able to get 30/40m type players because been fighting relegation or mid table. Prob one of most talked about teams last year with exciting manager. They’re now in Europe so need to massively strengthen the squad to compete and have load of money from previous sales so would make sense for them to now spend money on a few big players. Will be interesting to see how they do. Their forward line could be very exciting. Mitoma Pedro Kudus Enciso Ferguson all exciting players with lots of potential plus Webeck March to offer bit more experience. Then Milner Lallana Dahoud offer huge experience in midfield. Think they’re going to do very well in the EL
you guys fed the troll. I bet you all feel dirty this morning. the poor fella tried his damnest to wind you all up and drop lines left and right. me? I had a.noce nights sleep thanks. BTW. onana, lunatic martinez, the short arse varane, the crock take your pick of **** full backs casemiro rotund retiree who will be shown up by.... fernandes who is too.importsnt to mark up or full a gap. Mount who will run forward and miss chances left and right. Anthony the ego who'll spend more time spinning round chasing his tail like a dog than playing rashford who might score 10 and be lauded but won't track either and finally holjund the average kid thrust into the limelight and about to be thrown to the wolves. all the best @Diego you'll need it. After all you watch "a lot of football" so enjoy the suffering
USA out of the women's WC. About time the rest of the world caught up with the arrogant American Women's team Sudden death pen shootout, last pen saved but spun up back over the keeper and just about crossed the line before a second save. Interesting finish as it was confirmed via VAR
the 5th yank pen was brilliant if you are Swedish Not convinced about that Var decision but who cares since it knocks the septics out .
Some of the traditional 'also rans' have caught up with the likes of Brasil and the US in the womens game...its been coming.
it's not really fair to say but once you match the physical side or better it then the gap between "pro" and "amateurs" vanishes
Once the traditional nations (European and South Americans) decided that womens football was worth it, they were always going to catch up. There was the infrastructure, tradition and willing players already in place, all they needed was to add the right coaching, teams and leagues, which were the easy parts. The US also seems to have stagnated abit as well. Once upon a time to be the best in womens you had to play in the US, which improved their home players, now there are more good leagues meaning most don't have to leave Europe now and the US women seem to only want to play in Europe if its short term, so they're suffering from the same problem English male players do, an unwilling to move abroad.
Sweden were always good though. this is just really the fittest and best prepared winning. it's inevitable in sport, just need to look at women's rugby for how amateurs have not a hope in hell against pros. we are seeing a lot of sides in this wwc who are more than capable of fronting up to this big nations and we are not seeing the "quality" to break them down and score consistently.
and keeping has always been one of the weakest parts of the game. the more professional you get and more women to pick from the better you'll find these becoming.
Eeeee If Klopp had voiced the comments that Pep has today there would have been a lot larger reaction lmao
