First time I've seen Spurs this season and Maddison looks as though he is going to fill a huge hole we've had since Eriksen left.
4 goals for the big man now. Every one should add another £5m to the price tag. Actually I missed the 0 at the end of the 5.
Vicario with two bits of good keeping there, first a save from almost point blank range then getting down to grab the ball from the Shakhtar player’s feet.
I like it, far more options in attack and look brightest attacking since Poch. The players have been freed to play.
Kulu much better after the break and Kane basically being Kane, reminding anyone that if the thought of “we should sell him” crosses their minds, they should slap themselves silly. Loved seeing Dane get on the scoresheet at the death too. Hopefully we can find a decent loan for him this season.
A decent pre-season run out, Shaktar were distinctly average, but that win should be good for confidence. I assume that the players who didn't play today will play the Barcelona match on Tuesday. When you look at that, you have to hope that Kane lines up next week and is staying for this season at least. Liked the look of the keeper, and of Udogie. Sarr also did some good things, will be interesting to see what midfield 3 starts next week. Maddison got better as the game went on and will be a big player for us this season. I hope that the Van De Ven is fit and raring to go because he will be needed from day one!
Much better second half. Kulu grew into the game and looked better still after Kane went off. We largely stopped the whole infield FB thing and it helped the overall balance immensely. Maddison very, very impressive. I think with Bentancur behind him he will absolutely flourish. Udogie looks like top prospect. I was disappointed with Sarr, wasteful in possession and gave the ball away far too often. Hojbjerg predictably ordinary. Son hasn't shaken off the doldrums of last season which is worrying, although Solomon looks like a very bright player. Kane's body language both when he went off and at the end of the game did not suggest someone who knows he's leaving. Although that may change in the coming days. Overall though the football is much more positive and the players look much happier. Defensive improvements urgently needed and the sooner Bentancur comes back, the better.
