Norwich looked good in the first half in particular. We had some luck in the first half coupled with some great defending and Ingram made one fantastic save. Oh and we scored and they equalised. Second half was even stevens for me. They didn't create much and got lucky with the last kick of the game. Their keeper made an equally fantastic save to keep DeLap' shot out. I'd be surprised if they aren't promoted (not on that performance alone but because of their squad and manager). We'll be mid table hopefully top ten. We looked one dimensional at times and we looked better when prepared to get stuck in and not play safe. Traore was played out of position, Ozan was off it, our defenders did not have enough options when trying to play out. Same when Ingram had the ball at his feet. We need to play with more freedom and not be so frightened and some need to work harder/smarter to give more options to the player with the ball. That's all you need to know really.
It’s been bubbling because of our transfer activity, the performances in pre-season, the mixed messages from the owner on finances and Rosenior’s verbose comments with no substance. Don’t be intentionally obtuse about why people feel on edge about this season. If we played well but still lost 2-1 today, I’d take positives from the performance and say ‘**** it, bring on Wednesday next weekend’ but it’s the manner of the performance. So many players still look rusty and leggy despite having a full pre-season. Some of them are just way off it in terms of physical fitness which is unacceptable. The midfield is weak as **** and even you must struggle to deny it now. Rosenior keeps saying we’re a possession side and we’re improving but I don’t see it. I see predictable passing out from the back and losing the midfield battle against better possession teams.
I get the point on pre-arranged anger. I just really don’t enjoy watching how Rosenior sets us up. I think he limits players more then he helps them excel
I can see how he wants to play and he's talked about how he wants to play. So far the team hasn't been able to execute from an attacking stand point and in my opinion this breaks down long before most attackers on the pitch get a sniff. We are patient at the back and then all of a sudden we either quickly fizz it to an attacker or play a hopeful long ball, both of which are difficult to deal with and it just turns our attacks in to a disjointed game of hot potato, it seems to me that it will be the same situation regardless of who we have fit etc.
So you acknowledge the pre-determined vitriol. And I don't think anyone would shut down rational debate on here after all it's why were all here, but where does it come from do you reckon? I don't see this in the north east whether red and white, black and white or a gateshead, hartlepool or darlo fan. Yeah they all hate each other to varying degrees but stay relatively united in supposlrt for their club unless things really go tits up. Here we have folk seemingly getting off on predicting us to fail and wanting to be the big boy that told us so. There's been an element of that all the time I've gone to City and coming out of that 90s malaise when the hangers on had ****ed off to their sky subscriptions and we had proper genuine support in the ground were my best years supporting city. How ****ing entitled to you have to feel to criticise a last minute away loss under controversial circumstances to a side with 3x the budget in front of 30k who actually pay a non subsidised rate to support their club in numbers, whilst whinging that the owner isn't doing enough to reward members, not doing enough on transfers. Is about to get bored and **** off, is incompetent, skint, lying about FFP, all whilst looking for a free stream on firestick so they can avoid paying in to the club they have such high expectations for? Somethings not ****ing right here. Rational concerns, fair enough. Pre conceived agendas - there's something massively wrong here. At support level not club level.
When we had strikers immediately after Millwall Rosey had us 8th in the form table from when he took over. But we are yet to see what he can do with match sharp and consistently available wingers, no10s and strikers to chose from.
I do think some are over reacting to what most might think would be an expected loss. We need to give LR and the squad he has built 10-12 games and see where we are before going off on one.
You’re such a cheeky ****. I’ve not once complained about having to pay for anything at City. I pay my membership every month, the £10 or whatever for games online and I haven’t complained once about Acun stopping free away travel nor have I asked for ‘freebies’. I pay full-price to support my club so me criticising a ****e performance, the coach or even the owner isn’t ‘entitled’, you forelock-tugging twat. Go have another drink, piss artist. No wonder your missus shagged your mate.
Well clearly I wasn't addressing you then was I ? Think there's a bit of self-defining going on on your part. But perhaps look at a bit of therapy though for that pent up aggression, yeah? I actually half agree with you a lot of the time. I'd love the security of an aggressive, pyysical dm who can also pass - cos ball retention is gonna be key, but can absolutely see that the immediate priority is in forward, not defensive areas - cos barring boro and Sunderland we were as tight as a gnats chuff at the back for the most part.
You’re right. @Mckechnie Orange apologies for the personal attacks. I was annoyed at the insinuation that people who have been critical of the club are entitled and don’t pay their way in supporting the club but the personal attacks were uncalled for.
In the context of the current debate, remind me when I've got personal against you? There's only 2 (OK, possibly3) posters on this site who'd earn the privilege.
Today was dross, even against superior opposition. But the vein of critique against Rosenior is disproportionate – way over the top considering his performance face to face with our other managers in recent years - makes me wonder why...
Grant McCann got some of the harshest vitriol of a City manager I’ve seen in recent memory. Even when we were top of League 1, many fans couldn’t forgive or forget the 8-0 loss to Wigan or that he put us in that league. I’ve not seen Rosenior receive anywhere near the abuse McCann did. In fact, I don’t think I’ve heard a City fan actually say they want Rosenior out yet. Most who are critical of him are just frustrated with his tendency to waffle in interviews about a whole lot of nothing and his insistence on his style of play despite being an unproven and naive coach. Howden says Rosenior comes across like Parkinson sometimes and I can see how that will rub people the wrong way when he’s been a head coach for just one year.
