I have this theory that a team who can put the ball in the net FAIRLY deserve to win any game, irrespective of whether the other team ran them ragged and had thirty shots on target and hit the post ten times or the goalkeeper had to make 10 worldies. If the dominant team do not put the ball in the net, even when playing the opposition off the park, they should not be rewarded. If the dominant team put the ball in the net unfairly, even when playing the opposition off the park, they should not be rewarded. So, for me, losing the game to their second dubious "goal" is extremely disappointing.

Yep. I still expect them to be fit for the first game of the season barring injury. You don’t think there’s an issue with Connolly being that overweight? Even Tufan didn’t look that overweight when he first came here.

I think he got 20 mins for a reason. And not necessarily all to do with the game at hand.

Aye, but that same logic needs to be applied both ways.

A lot on here would have said we were lucky for a draw if it was 1-1 today and that the oppo deserved to win, but don't deploy the same logic when it's us dominating and spaffing the same chances.

It's double standards and people wonder why some posters are overly negative by not applying the same logic.

Some just seem to be salivating for us to fail.

Seems to be part of the culture at city unfortunately.

On the balance of play we would've been fortunate to get the point, that's my opinion but it doesn't mean to say I wasn't pretty pissed off that we never came away with one.

I think Carrow road opening day we were definitely the underdog.
Those performances where its back to the wall and you earn something from grit and determination to keep em out are part and parcel of this league.

And we did just about enough to nick a point today.

Today's game seems to have further energised those who are determined to be angry. No one said we wouldn't have a **** game this season, and Norwich away was always likely to be one of them.

I really do worry about the effect of this growing discontent. I think the atmosphere could be horrible at home games if this board is anything to go by and we're going absolutely nowhere if that's the case. Yes we were ****e today, but we weren't ****e for the second half of last season and pretending that we were is bollocks. We'll play miles better than we were today, but for ****'s sake have some nerve and back your team. If we're on their back from minute 1 next Saturday it's going to be much harder.

Playing poorly doesn't have to be a reflection of the entire transfer policy, or proof that X or Y can't play this position or that. It can just be that we were **** today. For all the predictable talk of defensive midfielders, our biggest problem today seemed to me to be that we were absolutely crap on the ball.

Like we were saying the other day, ideally the window would close way earlier, transfer business would be done long ago and we wouldn't have all this mess of getting players up to speed after the season has started, and some of them not even being here yet. Unfortunately the reality is we aren't one of the few clubs in the country who can afford to have their business done early. Admittedly Rosenior said he wanted to do that and he probably should've been more realistic since we know it never happens that way.

People can say a player 'went missing' but it could be because the opponents try to avoid him and his own players dont pass to him.

How the **** is lack of creativity and goalscoring 'not really' a fitness issue when your strikers and creatives can't stay fit for more than 5 games in a row?

He ain't the first manager to say it though so why the vitriol for Rosenior?

You said it was a system issue and implied it wasn't down to personnel.

Well if you play 2 central midfielders wide and another 2 up front then you just end up with 2 midfield not a midfield and forward line.

Yeh I do think it's a system thing. And you're saying it's a fitness thing right? and then you replied to me...

"How the **** is lack of creativity and goalscoring 'not really' a fitness issue when your strikers and creatives can't stay fit for more than 5 games in a row?"

This kind of takes what I said out of context. Fitness will absolutely have an impact on creativity and goalscoring. I think when we fix any fitness issues, we will still have an issue in our attacking play. I guess we will see, hopefully you're correct and it's as simple as that.

****ing hell god forbid people show abit of discontent towards a bunch of highly paid individuals. People pay good money to watch them, why are the players who played ****ing **** the victims in all this

I wouldn't say they're the victims (is anyone?). I just want us to do well and I worry that people's pre-arranged anger at this team from before a ball was even kicked is going to make it much harder for them. I hope that our home support is hardier than this board lately, but I worry it won't be.

It would be a pretty normal reaction to be disappointed by the result and performance today. But people are way beyond that, they're reacting as if it's the 8th defeat in a row or something, because that anger has been bubbling all pre-season for no obvious reason.

I think the reason is pretty obvious, we don’t trust LR because he hasn’t shown anything for us to “trust the process”

Yeah, but how can you expect to see how the manager wants to play when we've lost 4 seasons worth of availability between our most creative attacking players/finishers??
