Newcastle and Villa in the top three? Maybe one of them, but not both of them. Everton finishing less than 15 points below us?. It may be a super computer but it's not very super programming or fed bad data.
Keep saying, think Newcastle are in for a rough ride this season. They were able to play the same core of a team for most of the season and the defence was fairly regular, which they built their successful season on. Now they have the extra games, important games they'll need to rest key players for. Over play those players and thats when injuries will pile up. Personally I think Newcastle could finish 3rd in their CL group, depending on the draw and their lack of coefficient, which mean they'll drop into the EL and no let up in extra games. Plus there will be demands to win a trophy this year (FA or League cup) And overall I don't rate their transfers so far. The Italian lad looks decent, but if he was really that good others would have been looking at him. Barnes had one good season and a load of average ones for Leicester. And that's all they've done, despite the added CL and expectations.
Bit of a poor argument that really, I could say if any player was tat good other teams would be looking at them but the fact is every player gets looked at by many many teams but teams can only act on a limited amount of players which is why the transfers are spread around.
Agree Newcastle will have their work cut out for top 4. Don't know too much about Tonali but I think Barnes is a smart buy,as much for assists as goals
Newcastle are an odd one. They were brilliant defensively first part of season but couldn’t score goals.. hence lots of draws and few 1 goal wins. then turn of the year they went something like 16 without a clean sheet but scored a few more. Does seem like Howe struggled to get the balance but they got over the line. He had issues at Bournemouth with the defence and do wonder if in trying to get them to attack in his style he’s sacrificing the defence side of things and if they’ll hamper them this season?
a lot of sides will have figured them out a bit. same as plonk a fast lad on out right side and bash it over to him to run in.
To me Newcastle are an unknown. I think they could finish anywhere between third and thirteenth. I'm really not sure how they will do, but I do think their position last year flattered them a little.
I have already put my predictions forward - but looking at Newcastle I think will have a poor time at some point in the first half which will lead to Howe being sacked. they will then bring in a proven CL league manager and things will turn around that’s my prediction
I see utds extremely dodgy keeper got done for wandering about by a lob from half way today I couldn't believe he was their idea as de gea's replacement but this is going to be fun. add in their failure to receuit in midfield properly and a striker that's just bizarre for the pressure that will be applied and it makes us fell like we know what we are at.
mount is an attacking midfielder, not a pure central midfielder who can control thst centre of the park with casemiro. he's fernandes competition unless they want to be unbalanced. the striker they just got is my point. a guy who's coming in as a younger payer who no great record thst could be under severe pressure if things don't go well
I’ll bet you good money that mount is not a replacement for Fernandes. Their midfield 3 will be casemiro Fernandes and mount. that’s a good balanced midfield 3. Defensive one. Attacking one. And box to box.
thats how i see them lining up with Eriksen covering Fernandes / Mount and whichever of Fred or Mctominay is left covering Casemiro
it's not balanced though. not of those is box to box. most of mount's career he's been stuck at 10 or wing by chelsea. you have to be able to tackle and he wound exactly be masterful. I see an older rotund individual a won't track back diva and a chav who will want to run forward. this is the same argument with arsenal buying havertz. if they play rice havertz odengaard as their first choice there will be gaps. if utd want to go pile on forward well and good but they have to have someone holding the shape. I mean it's the exact same argument about us. we've no 6 so someone will fill in and we are borrowing out of rb to fix how easy it is to walk through is. utd might have an initial press but they then need to get back in or they'll be cut up and there'll be chips over that lunatic gk every 5 minute.
no idea..and it's a big step up to the prem at times from holland. there's a lot of dodgy stuff happening with Chelsea Brighton right now. kudos was on chelsea radar and suddenly they step aside and the fund Brighton to the tune of 25mil or more for sanchez to enable them get the guy. if Brighton sell them caicedo then there will be a complex set of cheeky deals to screw his former.club out of massive sell on bonus.
