can we get back to agreements/disagreements about the game and the future. If its just name calling etc I'll have to try and remember what the buttons do. PS Please <<< see, I'm asking nicely.
Pretty clear in Acun's pre-match interview the expectation on Liam and the squad is 10th or above. 3/4 more incomings before we know the strength of this seasons squad though.
When have we ever seen it though? The manager keeps mentioning his specific style of play and he needs the right players to play it. Well, from what I’ve seen of his football, we make the same predictable moves playing out from the back with some great efforts by the centre-halves and keepers to prevent us conceding loads and the occasional scrappy win. His record last season was 8 wins in 28. Not exactly set the world alight with the performances or results, has he? Carrick at Boro was impressive. Rosenior for us is lukewarm at best. Rosenior has said he wanted robust players who could play his brand of football and he wanted them in early. The season’s started and we’re still short a defensive midfielder, two quality wingers and another keeper from looking like a team even remotely balanced and complete. So far we’ve signed a young kid from Man City on loan who looks decent if inexperienced, a winger who’s had one half-decent season in Turkey and didn’t even make it on the pitch today, a left-back who played four games last season who looked completely knackered by the 30th minute and out of his depth yet was Rosenior’s first choice transfer for left-back and a striker we had on loan last year who only played 5 games and has come back looking 2 stone overweight. Some of us had concerns all pre-season about our transfer business, Rosenior’s inexperience as a head coach and we were called ‘bed-wetters’ and other childish bollocks by the sanctimonious arseholes on here who think any criticism of the coach and owner is off-limits.
The Carrick that lost to Millwall at home today? Wonder if their board is in meltdown and having an existential crisis. After all they were at home against a weaker (on paper) side today. And besides, our business is far from done this window, so judging it until it is seems a bit premature, don't you think?
Pubs apparently been calling all day it seems Besides 'bed wetting' is euphemistically describing a type of post. Unlike slinging personal insults which you seem to struggle to grasp.
You don’t get it, do you? If I was a Boro fan, I’d still have lots of faith in Carrick considering he took them from 21st in October to 4th at the end of last season, regardless of today’s result. By contrast, Rosenior took us from 21st in November to 15th at the end of last season. In the time Carrick’s been at Boro, he’s had them scoring goals for fun, playing attractive football and most importantly, winning lots of games. Rosenior has an idea of possession-based football and playing out from the back but it’s **** and we end up with 40% or less of the ball against other possession teams. We don’t score enough goals either so we have a lot of 0-0 and 1-1 draws. I’ve seen nothing from Rosenior since last November to suggest he’ll have us anywhere near the top 6.
Rosenior took us from worst defensive record in all 4 leagues to 4th best in the championship in his 28 games; from relegation certs to 9th best overall points total in the division over the same period, so I don't feel my confidence is misplaced in his ability. Whilst Carrick had a squad with goalscorers in it he took them from being an average side into a good one, whereas Liam took us from being a **** side to being a decent one the achievement for me and others is comparable.
Yes he took us there by sacrificing any form of consistent attacking output. And we’ve not got any better in that regard. Delap brilliance isn’t down to Rosenior…
Norwich City boss David Wagner told BBC Radio Norfolk: "It's not a question or a shadow of a doubt that this win was fully deserved. The times when we scored late in stoppage time looks a little bit lucky, but it was anything but lucky. "The first half we were outstanding, an absolute threat offensively and defensively. We controlled everything apart from this one situation where our centre-halves have to solve the situation better, for sure. "But how the players reacted and struck together afterwards and came from behind was great. The second half was not as good as the first half. This is the truth and we have some work to do, but we won the game and I am over the moon about the performance. "The atmosphere was electric in the stands and on the pitch as well. This was exactly what we needed. In the first half every single supporter felt how well they played. They kept going and kept going and the supporters kept supporting and this was why we were successful." Hull City assistant head coach Justin Walker told BBC Radio Humberside: "They are a good side. I'm not taking that away from them, but we are furious with the way it ended for us. "I think it's clear to see. We are bitterly disappointed. I have to be careful for obvious reasons. We will be better in terms of performance as the season goes but I think we fully merited a point. "If you are going to bring out so many new rules, you have to carry them out and execute them. There is debate whether the ball went out for a corner in the first place after the five-minute period anyway. We've played that and the ball goes out to a wide area which is a safe place to therefore blow the whistle. "Potentially there is another foul in the box as the ball is delivered. If you're not 100% he's offside then you can't give it. I am disappointed for everybody. It's a bitter pill to swallow."
