Just thought Coyle stood up very well to Hernandez who’s a top winger at the level. Number of good headed clearances too. Yes limited in possession but he’s playing without a winger on front of him, and 2 of the most immobile and passive midfielders in the division.
He does frustrate me with is passing ability but it is a fair point that his options are limited so perhaps is forced to do something thats not ideal. He defended very well today.
We’re not allowed to say anything negative on Twitter, because your a melt or a whinger apparently, I hate those fans who accept defeat by saying oh it’s the first game, or we got robbed, no team gets robbed very often, you lose cos your ****ter than the other team, and we were today, mentally weak again, to give both goals in injury time is unforgivable. Unless Rosey can get a good goalie in we’re ****ed.
Seen from another replay below that he wasn’t offside when the cross was played in. But yeah had he been it should be offside. It’s a daft rule but it’s the same one that says if a player intentionally goes for the ball then it’s a new phase of play. So a striker could be 15 yards offside. When someone passes it to him the defender tried to cut it out and just gets a little touch that player becomes onside. But if the ball just hits the defender without him making an attempt to play the ball then the striker is offside. Anyway moot point. He was onside when the cross was played. Just the shocking corner decision and the phantom extra time on top of extra time that are the issue.
Jesus christ. Narrow first game away defeat at a parachute club and the verbal incontinence on display is unreal! Suppose it's to be expected but one thing I don't understand is why when the oppo create chances and hit the woodwork we're gash and lilicky not to be 6 down but when we do the same we're still gash and the oppo are still better than us. Go figure!
Coyle’s passing ability is the issue. Not a bad defender at all but his passing is well below par for this league. Not ideal for a team who wants to play out from the back.
Lesson No 1...Concentrate to the bitter end...of each half.. That said, nothing much they could do about the toe poke!!
I’m less concerned about the keeper. Ingram and the centre-halves kept it a respectable score line today. It’s the fact we don’t have a defensive midfielder that’s the biggest issue.
I reckon you swing that so you’re looking perfectly down the byline like they do in the EPL then that is probably just about on. It’s certainly marginal.
Which game did we create chances and hit the woodwork, I might go rewatch to make myself feel better.
You do know that most of us who give the team **** when we lose like that, also give the team high praise when we win like that, to accept that defeat like you do is pathetic, we all want the team to win, and if they don’t we can moan like ****, that’s a winners mentality which most of us have, I detest the appeasers who try and see good in a poor performance.
Ok, I absolutely stand corrected. Their player was clearly offside when he scored. When the ball came through to him, all the ref/Lino’s had to consider (with that ruling) is did a City player deliberately pass to the goal scorer? Obviously not. iIt’s an horrific decision. With two officials involved, that makes it even worse.
Well last season we started out with a big win at Preston, and we all know how it turned out in the games after that. So hopefully this is a wake up call for the management team and players. It may well be that the last minute goal will be a blessing in disguise and put some impetous not only into our transfer dealings but others aspects of our game (clutching at straws here). Missed a large part of the second half but in the first we were played off the park and could have been 3 or 4 down. Seri and Slater were innocuous in particular Seri was not his usual passing machine self. Like another poster saw promise in Simons when he came on. Suspect we will be seeing more of him. Makes you wonder what we are going to do with Bird when we have Simons. Connoly did not do much but he showed at least once that he has not lost the ability to glue the ball to his boot laces. Delap look strong and difficult to push of the ball and took his goal well. All in all though a bit of a let down after all the excitement at the start of the season.
‘They have parachute payments so of course they were going to have 28 shots and dominate us from start to finish! I don’t know why people are annoyed with the performance!’ Have a word with yourself.
