Yeah, usually a bad time to concede just before half time, but hopefully will give us a chance to regroup. Couple of times last season, we had a barmy few minutes and conceded a few in not long.
Our full backs are getting isolated 2 against 1 all the time tbf to them, Vaughan does t seem to grasp the defensive side and Traore looks leggy. Tufan seems to be still on the pre season practice mode so far.
View from the stands. Midfield looks very lightweight. Delap looks decent but up there on his own. Always a bad time to concede. Hopefully some changes at HT. Christie on to play in front of Coyle. Rerver has it right watching on the box. Vern.
Seri and Slater is a weak midfield defensively. Coyle and Vinagre have been poor but they’ve been given zero help defensively by Traoré and Vaughan. If the full-backs are struggling, the wingers need to help them and they just aren’t. Delap’s hold-up play looks good but he needs to learn how to ****ing pass to teammates in good positions instead of just running into the opposition. Tufan looks busy but a bit sloppy in possession. Ingram, Jones and Greaves are keeping this a respectable score line, let’s be honest. 4th best defence in the league but conceded 18 shots in one half. The keeper and centre-halves are good but that doesn’t mean we as a team are good defensively because we’re not.
Traore, in his defence, isn't a winter....you can tell he's out of position.....also fair play to Norwich, my mate who's a fan messaged saying this is the best they've played in 2 seasons! V strong team they've got out
LR doesn’t like admitting he’s made a mistake so subs won’t come on until we are 2-1 down or we get a player sent off
Players clearly haven’t been drilled on the new rules. I fear us finishing with 9 or 10 players on the pitch
I agree with others that Seri has looked quite poor today and most of pre-season. Just very slow and ponderous. I also said a month or so ago that we’ll probably see less of him this season. Technically, he’s probably the best player in the squad but I’d rather have Simons and Slater in midfield than Seri on recent performances. He doesn’t do anything defensively and he hasn’t offered much going forward so far.
I would rather be proven wrong than right when it comes to my criticisms of City but there’s a reason I’ve been on my soap box about the state of the midfield.
