Just my opinion on certain players. Just because we have dropped a league does not make them better players.
I would love to see dan james find his scoring boots and Gelhardt too. Gyabi i am hoping will step up to this mans league it's his chance. I know we have enough wingers and pace but worry about creativity and putting archie in too soon against some big men.
Here is what I mentioned in the OP. We offered his club £35m if he had come we had the goals scorer we desperately needed and may have stayed up. It all went on to long and in the end he wanted to go to AC Milan so he went for £28m so his club were angry. He hasn’t got going in Milan so hardly used, a wasted season for him and his club.
Shouldn’t be a surprise to see Southampton play well. They weren’t actually terrible all last season. Just poor keeper and poor finishing… True of all 3 relegated sides. One of the reasons I think the championship is stronger this year is I don’t think the worst footballing teams in the prem came down last year and some of the champs better sides last year got off to a poor start and are still here.
Yeah and be interesting to see how Corberan gets on this season with all the money problems WBA have, but he is starting the season this time not diving in a when his team is in relegation zone. Also same thing at Boro as Carrick and Woodgate will be starting the season. Also Mowbray at Sunderland who was unlucky not being promoted and the old lad always does well wherever he’s been
It may be your level and where you feel more comfortable but some of us need better. In fact we simply must have better because whilst it will be a fun season winning a few games after relegation there's no point being Leeds united unless we strive to be amongst the very best.
Those 12 players, realistically a couple might leave, we could sacrifice 4 if it was Struijk or Cooper, Bamford, Meslier and Firpo. This is the reset mate and we’d be foolish to rush anything. Farke with the context of his striker comment, he was asked if it’s become more urgent and he said no as the injuries were not lengthy ones, it doesn’t mean we’re not trying to get one.
WTF did Orta see in him? 2 years scouting him to make sure he was the man to take over Bielsa’s team and carry on with a slightly different version of BielsaBall. It was nothing like, it was mad, it was ugly, it was disjointed and all the players who Marsch brought in to play a certain way were baffled and played like they had never met Marsch before. Did Orta have a breakdown or a brain fart, gobsmacked at him
So some of our fans want to get off to a fast start otherwise they fear we'll be to far behind to mount a promotion challenge, whilst others don't want to win too many games before the transfer window closes because they fear the the 49ers will think the squad we currently have is good enough.
No mention from Farke during his injury updates of Drameh & Firpo. Everyone else got a mention so does this mean those 2 are likely heading through the exit door ?
Ristac’s WBA mate thinks they have no chance, for reasons mentioned… but Corboran got a nothing Huddersfield side into the playoffs so will be interesting to see how he does. I like how Rosenior got Hull playing. Boro and Sunderland both relied heavily on the loan market. So I think a lot may come down to who navigates the end of the window successfully.
