Sunday week....No problems here, Town go marching on 3-1 Town, we ain't scared of anyone, we are better than most!! Hopefully Saff will crawl back into his shell.
Score draw, going for 1-1. There’s going to be a bit of rust in the well-oiled machine we saw in the final third of last season. Sunderland are also a very good side. If I had to choose a winner - I’d opt for the home side. Ashton’s said we’ve got a few more names lined up, hopefully a defender that can slot straight into the first team. I’m not sure a centre back pairing of Woolfenden and Burgess will cut it for an aspirational Championship club, just my opinion though.
I think a score draw is likely too.Dominate possession for a good part of the game but have our backs to the wall and concede a late equaliser. COYB!!
We have the better players. First game of the season is always tough for every team. I’d still be disappointed if we didn’t take 3 points at home against a newly promoted side.
2 nil Sunderland, and we're brought back down to earth. We'll be too complacent and Sunderland will nick two goals towards the end
If we are to have a shot at the autos we'll need to pick off the lesser sides in the league away from home. 0-14 Ipswich.
Not long now! While I would love a 2-0 win, I think unlikeIy. I would also be happy with a 2-2 draw. More important is to compete from end to end and nick a goal. So I will stay with 2-2 draw and then a home win against Stoke which would be a great start to a long hard season. At least we will be playing on proper football pitches!
I think we’ll come away disappointed. Sunderland are possibly the strongest team to face away for the first game of the season. I think we’ll play well and give a very good account of ourselves and deserve point(s) but ultimately give away a sloppy goal or two and lose 2-1 learning curve and all that
we will only have 40,000 on Sunday but are bigger than Norwich lol. we have players out but the best midfield in the championship.
No problem, mate. After Sunday, I hope you have a good season. You're a proper football club with a decent following. That can only be good for the league.
I have been following for 60 years mate, and seen some great matches, FA Cup, Europe etc but for most of the last 20, it has been tough going and not a happy club or joyful team to watch. We have new shoots, a terrific young manager, very forward thinking new owners, and the Club is transformed. We will enjoy our time in the Championship amongst some really big clubs, and meeting old foes- most on here think a top half season is fine while we find our feet, and a top 6 quite possible. Here's to a good opening game on Sunday!
It seems there are a lot of teething problems on TownTV. As one who is too senior and frail to make the 200 plus round trip to PR and away matches, and wants to watch as many games live as poss, what are my choices? Do I still head for Holland and pay per match? I am not that bothered by all the club interviews, extras with the monthly sub either. Am I right in thinking that if a game is shown live on Sky in the UK it will not be on TownTV and so not available to any kind of subscription including the international at £20 a month. Any advice please, much appreciated. Other than cuddling up to Spanish in his lovely villa with a few beers!
Hi Gaffer If its on sky, or is a Saturday 3pm kick off, it won't be on Town tv (UK) I can't comment on international subscriptions. Only option (legally) is to get Sky sports, or there are plenty of non-legal options to get some of the games (incl. all premiership games)
Win,lose or draw today we’ve got to remember this is going to be a long Season and we’ve got to trust the process that has got us this far. Some fans were writing us off at the end of 2022 and look how KMc and his team turned things around for one of the best runs we’ve ever experienced.Strap in everyone, it’s going to be a hell of a ride! COYB!!!
Pre game beer in Newcastle. In and out of that ****hole for the game as fast as possible on the metro. COYB!
