Interesting all the speculation around Kane and Osinhem before the window opened and then nothing really happened on either. It seems clubs around Europe don't have that kind of money or simply not spending those amounts. So Bayern's offer is more than decent and it doesn't look like anyone else is going to be offering those sums.
I think the combinations we'll be able to play with the midfielders we have will be very good. The midfield rotation whilst maintaining the quality will help massively in various comps.
Thing is, its only really premier league clubs that have a lot of cash these days. Unless you want to go to American or Saudi. The rest of Europe is broke as a ma'****er. Bayern, Real, Barca, the usual European power houses, aint got the flex they had 10 years ago. Even smaller PL clubs like Brighton for example, are telling Chelsea to go **** themselves and sticking to Caicedo's asking price..... 10 years ago if Chelsea had come along and tried to pick up one of Brighton's players, they would have been pressured to sell, but the success of the PL means that PL clubs dont have to bow down to bigger clubs that try poach their players, whether they be domestic or overseas.
Yeh the continental sides aren't spending except PSG. Have you noticed they're also tending to buy off other continental clubs - places like Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Holland rather than here, on up and coming players for a fraction of the price. Money's tight. And good for Brighton and all those clubs. They'll still lose players but they're selling on their terms and Brighton's recruitment is excellent so they continue to do well on the pitch.
Yeah, its a pisser for us that they are playing hardball with Caicedo, but overall its good for the smaller clubs that they dont have to just bend over now when Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd or Arsenal come along. Liverpool raped Southamptons entire squad a few years back.....was shameless
raped is a bit strong, they paid Southapton a decent price for te players, Southampton squandering the money isn't their fault.
I know they were paid, but they just kept going back for more, over a couple of windows, Mane, Lalana, Lovren, Van Dijk, Clyne, Lambert.....was ridiculous.
Feels very much like us last season ... sold Wesley Fofana (although we didn't want to) and only then brought in Faes at the last minute ...
I’d love it if the rumour’s true but I won’t hold my breath just yet. It’s pretty obvious Kane wants the move, he’s just too nice of a bloke to push for it. Edit: There’s also rumours we’re in contact with Porto over Taremi too, there’s not a chance we would be if Kane was staying.
Arsenal, Juventus, Roma are also among it's users, along with a further 650+ professional teams. Pure click bait.
Done... Manchester United have completed the £72m signing of Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66414526
