They've spent £15m on a midfielder that's sat on their bench, ready and waiting. Then there's Smallbone, Joe Aribo and Stuart Armstrong who will be more than good enough at this level. I honestly think they're stacked already. They've still got the likes of Sulemana and Mara who aren't even in the squad yet, presumably due to injuries.
He looked good in the Prem. Because they signed him in January and he's young, they might be able to keep him.
Yes I know, but if they get 80/90m for the 2 I mentioned i doubt they will bank it for a rainy day. It will be burning a hole in Martins pocket, hopefully their downfall will be a big bloated squad on big money that doesn't get enough game time and causes a bit of friction
I am in the minority but Southampton dont look all that to me. Weak on their left hamd side and caught out by balls in behind. I like Martin but he needs to adapt now. He has players that want to go early and he is on the touchline demanding they go backwards. Counter intuitive for some of his players. Sheff Wed are very weak, and have a poor coach, but Southampton are not blowing me away at this stage. This time last year Burnley looked the part, less so these lot. Just an opinion but I reckon we have more about us in attacking areas than them.
I’m actually with you as game develops. I think Wednesday are shocking rather than my initial thought that Southampton looked quality. They look decent like, but I think Wednesday could be whipping boys based on this half.
Hard to truly judge them as sheff wed have been shocking in this half Southampton will lose a couple players but theyve got a good squad and will be 1 of the teams to beat for sure
6 minutes added time to the first half!! This rule is going to get boring very quickly in my opinion. Just wait until a team on the last day finishes 20 minutes later than relegation rivals because of the amount of time the ball was out of play.

well the 'good game' i was hoping for just turned into sheff wed in constant retreat, really need to work on defence but i honestly expected them to try and make a statement but look sh1t-scared. hard to fully judge southampton, game is there for them and still only 0-1, thought they were unlucky last season, did not look a relegation side but probably not scoring when they had the chance might follow them this season.
You can tell Southampton have been in the prem for a while. Any contact and they roll around with arms outstretched. It really is a mess in the current game this rolling around ****e.
