Not only that it's rewarding players for doing well, prove your worth to the team and take a step up and you are rewarded financially whether you have years on contract or not!

All will help players join and stay

Contracts have been the order of business for our top performers. However, I was making reference to 2 other players who had discussions that forthcoming weekend. Obviously things have taking longer than initially anticipated.

Brilliant news… again. Still had effectively 3 years left and the clubs forward thinking again. Players clearly believing in this, roberts and Clarke next would be class.

I’m not sure he’s quite after “prem style wages”.

As I’ve said I understand both sides of the argument. That’s just football though people give contracts to their best players whether they’re injured or not. It’s not as if he’s on £100k and it’s a huge risk. He’s arguably the best striker in the league and he’s on peanuts at the minute.

Totally agree. It makes perfect sense if the model is to develop talented players, to keep topping the contracts up when deserved. The club ensures that when/if offers come in they're at the premium level and you keep the player, who is an asset both financially and on the pitch, happy. Everyone is a winner. Ross Stewart being the anomaly, although there are plenty of mitigating factors there, which have been done to death on here.

He is on " peanuts" because he chose to be and that should not be forgotten. He should sue his agent if his achilles doesn't heal properly, which is by no means a certainty.

Yep. Can't see a flaw in him. Could go far that lad, and he's not alone there.
