I did say 'basically'. Relative to our other signings, he would be very very cheap. Definitely not 1.2m.
If he does **** we can say "Not a big loss, at least he wasn't on a long term deal". Look at Sinik.. I'm sure we'd rather he'd been on a one year deal..
Am I right in thinking that English clubs still have an ‘agreement’ in place that means they won’t sign other English clubs plays on a pre-contract? Or am I talking rubbish? If so, this effectively means we’re the only English club who can offer Connolly a deal in January if he has a good six months.
Putting him in the U21 could be a good idea to gradually bring him up to speed with English football. Chuck him in the 1st team and he might struggle like Sinik has and as it's essentially a loan/trial he won't have time to adapt.
If we signed Sinik on a one-year deal for £4 million, that would be worse than his current contract. At least we can sell him back to Turkey and get some of our money back.
Haha knew someone was going to say that. Obviously I was disregarding the fee and talking wages for output.
I presume we might get some information on the connelly deal during the Q&A with Baz thats happening now. He must have expected to be asked so I would hope has some info.
I noticed Baz is completely ignoring any questions regarding Scott Twine in his Q&A. Guesses 3 more signings including Bird.
It's called pressing the panic button. When you spend several months working through your options starting with plan B and don't get anywhere you need to take what's available. It can't be easy picking up cheap injured players and hoping for the best. What comes after plan Z? I thought the club had money to spend staying within the rules but maybe not.
