After being complained about and not rated by most fans, I feel he showed us up somewhat last season by playing a big part in Bournemouth's survival. Definitely deserving of this contract and I expect him to be a regular starter for us this season.
Quality. It was an insane decision to loan him out last season. Glad he’s back. One of the few that actually cares about the club
Almost certainly. He’s one of the players Martin specifically sought out before he was even appointed to try and meet up with for a chat about everything that had happened.
A big part was that he wasn’t suited for a roll in a high press central defence. But over time our whole team wasn’t suited to that either !
Good news , he's certainly comfortable enough on the ball for Russball. I never panic when he has possession at the back, decent passer too.
My only real concern about Jack at this level is that he can be a bit hot headed at times, as shown by his yellow card against AZ (could have been a red in a competitive game). Just needs to keep a cool head, particularly if he becomes captain.
Good stuff, surprised he agreed to two years at his age rather than three, but he has the potential to be massive in the Championship this season. As others have said he is probably the most likely to be the next captain should Prowse leave as well.

During Covid, the Saints website did a thing where they got players to choose a 10 track playlist. Mainly, it just confirmed that footballers have questionable taste in music, but Jack's began with "Like A Rolling Stone" and closed with "I Am The Resurrection". Never mind his defending, he went up massively in my estimation after that.
