Apparently we will be taking Chelsea's Harvey Vale, a 19 year-old attacking midfielder, on a season-long loan. The lad looks decent and has made 5 senior starts for Chelsea, although none in the PL.
They tried to sign him in January but he had already played for Chelsea and a loan club so wasn't available
Chelsea want him playing games which he wasn't getting at Hull so the recalled him as rather he learn at Chelsea than not get anything from Hull. So if we do get him, he will need to be a regular otherwise Chelsea will take him back.
Vale is currently one of the Blue's most exciting prospects at Cobham. The youngster was involved in England's U19 European Championship victory last summer alongside Rovers goalkeeper Matt Cox. However, with little else known about the Englishman, we asked one of fooball.london's Chelsea writer Bobby Vincent for more insight on the youngster. Vale is listed on Transfermarkt as an attacking midfielder/forward - where's his best position? "I'd probably say through the middle as a central attacking midfielder. He has also impressed on the left-hand side as well. Honestly, his natural ability means he can play anywhere across the front-line." Vale spent just half a season on loan at Hull last year, what happened? "Vale did not get the minutes he and Chelsea were after at Hull. Chelsea then made the decision to recall him in January because they believed he would be better playing for their Development Squad." How highly regarded is Vale within Chelsea? Does he have potential to play in the first team regularly? "Those at the academy rate Vale very highly. Neil Bath has played a big part in his development and I know he rates him very highly. However, it's so difficult to break into the first-team at Chelsea, particularly when you look at the kind of money being spent in each window." Did Chelsea fans expect Vale to go on loan to a League One level side? "I'd say it might surprise a few but given what happened at Hull last season, League One may be the best fit for him." How excited should Rovers fans be and what can they expect from him? "Rovers fans should be very excited. At League One level, I really believe we could see Harvey at his best; a very direct and exciting footballer who always looks to create and score goals."
And he’s officially arrived on a season-long loan from Chelsea. Welcome to Bristol Rovers Harvey! Harvey Vale Joins Rovers! - News - Bristol Rovers https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2023/august/Harvey-Vale-joins-Rovers/
According to Bristol Live and Bristol World, we are looking to sign ex82er full back Jack Hunt. He's a free agent, 32 years-old, with 100s of Championship games under his belt and several promotions from L1. He's a free agent after leaving Wednesday end of last season. I think he could be a good back up for Luca. Gibbons is rarely fit and I don't rate him anyway so I think Hunt could be a better bet with his experience. He played 115 for C*ty but I'm prepared to overlook that! What do you reckon?
