Yes, but the satellites can't write me a speeding ticket. Bubba the cop has to personally write the ticket.
do you have the fake deer the cops set up to catch old boys who pull up in their pick up and take a pot shot down the road too? I met a deputy since who's job most days was trapping illegal deer shooters.
Blimey, those 18th Century colonists were forward thinking. "And the observation and record of thy velocity whilst astride thy steed, on performance of thy legitimate business, shall not be held or presented as evidence in criminal or civil proceedings against thy person or estate."
I haven't heard of that... But wouldn't surprise me. They don't have much regulations against shooting things here though. I have two theories... One involves time travelers and the other involves amendments to the constitution, not sure which is correct. Constitutional amendments are harder to pass than law changes but that's also why the anti speed camera amendments were made... Whoever originally made the amendment didn't want whoever took over the job in the future just reversing the law. By making it an amendment it's harder to repeal. I'm not sure the exact rules but probably means something like 3/4 of state legislative body would have to agree before it could be repealed. (Not sure exact percent).
I'm going with the time travellers theory. They're the same ones who introduced the Second Amendment to the US constitution because they knew that one day you'd need an anti-aircraft missile launcher in your backyard in case the bloody British tried to take the country back.
And I may be incorrect about it being written into constitution too... I went looking for details and it appears it's in the bill-of-laws not the constitution. A cop I know told me it was in the constitution, so I assumed he was correct... Google tells me it's not in the constitution. Either way, it's illegal for cops to use automated camera ticketing systems. Apparently a few small towns circumvent the rule by having cops watching video feeds and when a camera catches someone speeding or running a red light they manually write a ticket based on what the say saw on the monitor... ... Apparently though it's easy to appeal those tickets and they usually get thrown out if you're willing to hire a lawyer and fight them. (Probably paying more in legal fees than the ticket would cost you).
surely the.simple solution is to use the American 2nd amendment rights and let the cops shoot speeders. that'll fix em
oh BTW when the trucks are able to do 75mph easy it's quite odd that there's a 55mph speed limit. you've no limiters on trucks like we have. anyway I heard (not sure if it's true) that you've about a million levels of misdemeanors, felonies or whatever and its really easy get the charge reduced just by claiming speedo calibration or whatever.
Even though I don't know the subject in wisdom, nor your stance on the matter, and I'm sure as hell not reading back... I'm confident you were wrong mate
55mph speed limits are rare these days. Each state sets their interstate speed limits differently. 55mph harks back to the oil shortages of the 70's... Most states I think have 70mph speed limits now. Most people drive 10mph over whatever the speed limit is.
Interest rates going up again… inflation, making no difference. What’s the definition of insanity? Feel like given how much money these people are paid and their main job is to look after the economy, you think would have some other ideas on how to control inflation rather than just increasing rates and causing the normal person more stress while giving rich people with 1000’s in savings and no mortgage a nice little boost.
