I love the way some on here go from one emotion with one or two wins in " preseason friendly " games to and complete 180 degree emotion when we get beat. If the rest of their emotional lives are governed by such swings they are in serious trouble. ITS A PRE SEASON GAME......means nowt.

Was a B team at best few days before season start, and Mogger tried different setup.

Means absolutely nothing and as mentioned earlier probs should have been behind closed doors, we likely wanted help Pools out with a few quid.

No bearing on Sunday at all

Throughout the entire pre-season Mowbray has basically ignored the results and used the games as training sessions ...

... end of story as far as I'm concerned.

Absolutely spot on. I have never known our fans so vehemently slating about pre season. It has never meant anything. I remember us beating teams way higher level than us, and getting hammered off teams far lower too. The reason I can’t precisely remember who they are is literally because they are friendlies. Means nothing.

Sunday is the first real test, and even then we will not know or ever will, whether this result has any bearing on development personal or collective. OaU.

Makes sense , as long as it is kept in house as it were, Possibles v Probables used to attract decent audiences at the old ground, that is another consideration maybe, trailing all over the world pre-season just to get fit seems a waste . tbh.

It was surreal having our full squad sat in amongst the Hartlepool fans last night. Anybody could have had a pop at them if they had wanted to. They were literally a few metres from where me and my nephew were sat.

Straight away i noticed Dack and Evans looked pretty pally from their Blackburn days. Ballard and Cirkin spent most the game laughing and joking with eachother. They all look so young in the flesh.

I overheard a fan talking to Bellingham and asking if he'll become as good as his brother which was very cringey.
Jobe laughed it off, but i can imagine its pretty annoying being compared to Jude all of the time.

I’m not completely sure about this but I seem to remember, mainly from my Army days, that Hartlepool were more likely to be Sunderland fans as opposed to Darlington who were scum fans.
I think we get on well with Hartlepool and that they are a good lot down there.

Yesterday was poor from us but I think Mowbray learned far more from that game than all the games in the USA.

On an earlier post showing ins and outs I notice Cardiff and Stoke have signed 4 strikers. I don’t know how many strikers they have retained. Our choice of one fit striker, one young one out for a couple of months and Ross will he won’t he looks dangerously lightweight.
Four fit strikers for two places seems a minimum to me.

Yes i agree mate, i remember playing Sheff Utd last season and they started the game with N'diaye and Jebbison, and finished it with Sharpe and McBurnie. 4 quality Championship CF's.
We seriously need to get our finger out if promotion is our aim.

Looks like it has changed now mate. A lot of Hartlepool fans are now clambering on the backs of those lot up the road. My step-daughter married into a family of so-called Pools fans and since I started taking the grandson to watch games at the SOL, lets just say that their colours are well and truly nailed to the mast of those lot!

We have a long association with Hartlepool going back over the years, with many of our long serving players ending their days down there, and of course Cloughs career in Football management started there, just a shame we never gave him the chance to continue it here.
