Peter Beardsley Talk In....What he said about the current squad etc etc...

I posted an article yesterday about a Peter Beardsley talk in on Monday night where he claimed the money was transferred for Maiga...I didnt attend the event but my mate did and he filled me in on what else was said....

- Only Tim Krul out of the current squad would have got into the 'Entertainers'

- He said we dont know how much MA has done for us and when asked about re-naming the stadium he replied...all stadiums are going this way, it shows you how good of a business man he is he has got in there early before everyone does

- When asked who is the current best player in the premiership he replied - Robin Van Persie

- He said Tiote was a cracking player but his engine runs out after 70 minutes and he is useless after that

- Cabaye is Newcastles best player (which i think contradicts what he said about who would get into the entertainers), he said he is going to be fantastic for us

- MA is a very good boss, he said FS would have never let him go scouting to other countries for players and if he wanted to he would have to pay him self, but MA is always willing to pay. He said MA wants to continue to build an excellent acadamy.

- Peter has flew twice to Madrid to look at a 15 year old kid who we are trying to sign for 500K but its a slow process (family, school for the kid etc)

- When asked about Shola he replied its our fault for keep cheering his name when he scores and keeping him in the team, but he said Shola even when on the bench is shouting instructions at the team and takes a defeat to heart and is generally upset.

- He said sammy isnt that good, same as shola but just a bit quicker.


Thats all i can remember what my mate told is!

 

£500,000 for a 15 year old, must be impressive.

Just because Cabaye is our best player doesn't mean he would fit in the midfield of the entertainers, whilst Krul would get the GK spot. So not that contradictory

 

Not really noticed Tiote running out of steam ever.

I doubt that he would have said those three things TBH. If he did I will be extremely shocked.

 

As i said it was my mate who went, so he might of interpreted it different but would have meant the same thing, i have been to a talk in with Peter before and it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he used them exact words he hardly pulls punches.

Towards the end of our Championship season he was asked about the suggestion of Harper for England. He said that he didn't think Harper was a premiership keeper let alone an international. Not shy of speaking his mind

 

As SRH has said, it's all in the re-telling...For example:

The fans have asked who would get into the Entertainers side (He responds 'only Krul' - a fan says 'but what about Tiote?') Beardsley then says "Rob Lee was the fittest man I know, he could go at 100% for 90 minutes, Tiote is great but his engine only lasts 70 minutes, and if you're the engine in midfield, and you've no energy, you're useless!"

Similarly "Peter, what do you think of Ameobi, the press always say he is our top striker, but surely there are better ones?" to which Peter responds "Well you lot seem to chant his name enough (has a little chuckle) no in fairness to Shola etc..."

"Peter Sammy is making inroads with England U21 and getting starts, do you think he could become a future No.9 for club and country?" Peter: "Honestly, no. Sammy is a very quick boy and has a great attitude, just like his brother, but in terms of becoming a Newcastle legend, I don't think he is THAT good!"

 

That seems as though it would be about right. Is this just your guess or have you heard this is what he said?

Cheers lol, I know the stuff am posting is coming from my mate who was there so what you said is right, i can only post what he told me, and with Tiote he compared him to Batty for engine.

What interests me the most is this player for 500k...thats a lot of money for a 15 year old he must be a cracking player!

 

£500k now or £25m in about three years time, it could turn out to be a wise investment.

 

I am pretty sure we paid quite a bit for Haris Vuckic as well.

Exactly. Even if we get 10 15 year olds all £500K each and one comes through and is sold for £30million+ it's been worth it.
