This is a question as the second Hamilton fell off the back of le clerc? then Verstappen in 4th just absolutely sailed by. I an unsure if he knew this would happen and was patient or if it was really a drs train. The thing is they know full well they don't even need to get close to sail by so where have they really been is discommoded by a drs train?
verstappen now has a 5 race lead over perez. there's are 3 sprints left i think and 10 races. I make that 8x3 - 24 +10 fastest laps. +250 points for winning races. thats 284 points left to play for. Verstappen has 314 perez has 189 alonso 149 If verstappen decided he had enough and spat the dummy I make it out that he just needs 160 points to be world champion., should perez be next car down the track all the time (as it should actually be) The sprints left are qatar, usa and brazil (absolute gifts to red bull) Basically this is set up for Verstappen to win the title latest at qatar. Its more likley that in reality he wins this by suzuka
I don’t think it really matters when Verstappen wins it, he’s the best driver in the best car and his teammate, who would have needed to have the season of his life to compete with him has been struggling. The only point of interest up front now is exactly how dominant he will be and which records he will break. To some extent I think this shows the folly of having so many races. The pattern of the season has emerged, we have a cost cap that mitigates more than ever against that pattern evolving much through the season and we’re only half way through. There isn’t a huge amount of value to your average fan in what remains of the season.
nope. absolutely no encouragement to go out of your way to watch from round the globe if I were in Asia would I stay up late to watch that? if I were in texas where the race will be would i get up early to see it. I'll be honest, in the day the alarm was set for 5am or whenever for the Australian gp. now? no way. suzuka is one of my personal highlight of the season usually along with spa and Brazil. they are going to be boring.
And then there is this muppet in Arkansas who routinely ruins his Sunday morning sleep in to be bored silly.
Or this sucker for punishment in Bathurst NSW Australia who stays up late for the European races.But when it comes to the Americas I just put them on record as it`s middle of the night here.

Your average mass. group of potential fans will just start to drift away from watching if we don`t start to get some excitement and proper close racing.
One of the problems is there is nothing whatsoever to like or admire in Verstappem or Horner, both charmless arrogant nobodies who just happen to be in the right place at the right time (that is the persona they show in public) Swap Verstappen with almost any other GP driver and with that driver on pole baring any stupid mistake he would romp home while Verstappen would probably take out half the field with her reckless arrogance Just my opinion of course
Apparently they are starting to leak viewers on this side of the pond if recent articles are to be believed, which I can understand. There is plenty of domestic racing and a lot of races aren't on at particularly friendly times. Combine that with a lack of action throughout the field and a drop in viewership is inevitable. I think it depends on the event here atm. Local and high profile are likely still doing well.
Because you state that there is plenty of action in domestic racing that is probably the reason they are leaking viewership for Formula 1..I think Libertey went for their product in the states in a really big way and having 3 Grands Prix suggests this,and it`s not paying off too well.I`d say the American public are willing to try anything once and will watch,but if they don`t like it ,that`s it ,they will switch off. The entertainment business in general find it very hard to break into America , be it singers,comedians or whatever,if they don`t take to you,your gone.
Racing overall here isn't religiously followed. Nascar is probably the leader thanks to it's southern following, so if you throw another series in the mix, there isn't a massive following to attract in the first place.
