I would have to say that Armstrong has been given so mamy chances that there can be little left not to know about what he can bring to the club. He finished the last few games ok yet my opinion is that he is alwaus busy and tirelessly running yet in the wrong placs where he will never go any damage. Three different managers have been unable to fix this fault and I do wonder if there is a lack of a footballing brain which will forever prevent him ahceiving his potential. I would love to be proved wrong. In my opinion, he will strggle in the Championship too and just think he will find his level in Division One sooner rather than later. His ability has hardly seemed to have improved when faced with lower level opposition in the last few seasons.
So both West Ham and Liverpool supposedly walking away from JWP & Lavia. It'll be interesting to see how they react and whether they start kicking up a fuss.
TBH the board can point at Salisu and say to JWP/Lavia: "We got an acceptable bid for him, if we get one for you we'll accept it".
It seems that has already happened. The question is whether the agents agree with what constitutes am acceptable bid.
Which no doubt is the plan. At least they haven’t started #freeLavia or #freeJWP campaigns yet but I suppose there’s still time.
Lavia's agent might but I don't think JWP's agent can bitch too much. He's on 100k a week at the end of the day, we gave him a lucrative contract a couple of years ago, without a relegation release clause. Obviously I don't know what conversations took place with JWP in the event of relegation but it's West Ham who have come for him, not Spurs, Newcastle or any other highly attractive opportunity. Yes they are PL, but reading KUMB, the club seems in a right mess, They hired someone to oversee transfers, and apparently Moyes isn't interested in any of his targets and is refusing to sign off on them. Moyes wants proven PL players (hence the bids for JWP and Maguire) but this guy wants to find hidden gems from abroad. It sounds like total chaos behind the scenes.
I think Lavia will start kicking off soon tbh and Liverpool are clearly pushing for this now. Maybe some 'head not in the right place' type of message to come out in next few days or a week.
