I agree but funding the bolder actions isn't easy. We need at least £500m to make our squad competitive with the money clubs. So either we need ENIC to invest £500m or someone else to buy a stake of at least that size or someone to buy the whole club and then invest another £500m. Difficult to make the case for the investment whichever way we do it.
I was being serious. I don’t think we’ll sign a first choice forward if/ when Kane leaves because Richarlison will take the spot and we’ll then sign a backup. So the timing of Kane’s likely departure isn’t really relevant.
That’s a Levy bid for a player they clearly want a lot more for how about offer £130 mill or something in that region We can afford it
Wouldn't mind us signing Tony, I know he's out till January but he's a real handful. Of course he's nowhere near the level of Kane but he can score and create.
Toney is perhaps the most achievable target who is similar-ish to Kane. Though I feel like Ange might go for a striker who plays more off the shoulder, if we were to get another.
I think we could move Son closer to Toney, with Toney acting like a target man and Son running on beyond the last man.
We know that kind of thing can work because that’s basically been part of the Kane/Son dynamic the last few years. But that’s not how Ange uses wingers and strikers in settled possession. Obviously in transition it’s a lot more unstructured and you’d expect that dynamic to exist.
Het Niewsblad claim we've met with Gift Orban's representatives, which means that somebody read my post as we've remembered that Belgium has their own league Meanwhile, Rob Guest at FootballDotLondon says that Toisin Adarabioyo is back on the table, which is typical just as Monaco are looking to tie things up by the end of next week...
I think I'd lean towards going for a different style of player. Someone who has a few different strengths to Kane, maybe a pacey/ dribbler type of striker, more so than essentially going for a b-tech version of him which Toney would be.
Ange's system usually uses a pacey striker who plays off the defender's shoulder up top, preferably one with a ton of stamina The fact that we're apparently meeting with Gift Orban's representatives, given he fits that mold, does stand out just a little...
Arsenal apparently close to signing Raya. Crazy strength in depth if true. Meanwhile here we are, playing teenage mutant ninja bloody turtles.
They will have 2 quality proven PL goalkeepers, whilst we will have an unknown GK with zero PL experience and another who isn`t good enough.
