Didn't Morell play against us yesterday ?
Anyway I don't think any of those players would be in against PNE this weekend.
Whether we should have rec'd monies for them when we released them was down to the market place.
NP was charged to reduce the huge wage bill, IMO he's doing a decent job.

And the market place was the market place when LJ had to deal in it, with high fees and wages, which has been my point all along. I’m glad we finally agree:emoticon-0116-evilg:emoticon-0116-evilg

100% or even 110% agree ......knee jerk actions ..? or laziness? .... or missed opportunity .. massengo should have been signed up 2 years ago on better deal ...

I'm asking tentatively because I'm not sure of the fact but with all of these quality LJ signings that Nige inherited and moved on did LJ attempt to sign any of them for Sunderland or Hibernian, surely they would have leapt at the chance to rejoin him.

Why would they drop to L1, or go to Scotland? To your point though, Danny Simpson is testa and to that not always working, and we signed him twice:headbang:

Let’s also not forget that if Scott does go, along with Semenyo, the only 2 players NP will have received a wage for, were part “of the 65”…….

I was only asking about LJ signings that NP inherited, had to move them on and if LJ has shown any interest re-signing any of them.

    Morning Supcon.

The 'plan' from the start of LJ and Ashton was to bring in players, nurture them and sell them on for profit.
Most clubs chose a different route in that 'market place' but City went hell bent signing the '65' and only very few were successful, the vast majority were a total waste.
No doubt someone tried to sell the players you mention or the others of the '65' you didn't mention. As for your specific list no club out there would pay for them and none on that list would play against PNE this weekend.
I think the vast majority of the '65' were poor scattergun signings and happy that you disagree.

To be honest, I haven't kept particularly close tabs on any of our former manager's including LJ, so no idea if he, DH, SC and others have signed players at their new clubs that they signed for City?

I agree, quite a few were poor, some were even VERY poor purchases/loans, I don't think anyone has ever denied that? However, that was the club policy at the time, and the manager went along with it, as manager's do, whether they agree/like it or not.

............... and NP is doing a sterling job repairing that mess he inherited.

    Supcon.
You have forgotten LJ's first interviews. He totally bought in.
However you may be right, I will give you that as we're talking about a man who did and still does say anything to hold a job down.
Check out his latest expedition to Andorra.

You can’t criticise NP for letting all those players go for nothing on one hand, and then when he does sell for a profit criticise that as well !!

I wouldn't say a Sterling job, not yet anyway. Also, NP has bought into the new vision of the club equally, so why isn't he doing better, given all his experience and know how, and a relative to the market amount of money to spend? This season will define his tenure at City. I hope it's positive, i really do, as constant change rarely does a club any good. I refuse to acknowledge him as some messiah, as you and others do, just because it's no longer LJ as our manager!

Why not, everyone else criticises LJ for everything bad, and doesn't acknowledge any good, don't see you defending him.....

LJ did well to a point, but ultimately failed. BTW most managers do. NP has achieved his targets so far. I do like the team spirit NP has encouraged, I did feel with LJ there were “clicks”, certainly players seemed to get away with things others couldn’t. I don’t get that feeling with NP. I felt at the time, and still believe, LJ came here too early in his career, he should have got more experience before joining us.

I think that's fair. My one concern with NP is, I feel he alienates players to easily, e.g. HNM, Kalas
