And the updated information states This email address should also be accessible on your smartphone, as this will be required when you enter the Stadium of Light using your digital season ticket. Like that's going to work
think it another mix up in communications or hoping it is as they said before you dont need wifi or a signal to use digital ticket
This email address should also be accessible on your smartphone, as this will be required when you enter the Stadium of Light using your digital season ticket. That bit makes no sense at all and is just going to confuse people. There’s absolutely no need to have any signal or need to check your email if you have already added the digital ticket to your phone.
Honestly it’s like that has been written by a child. Should read something like this… This email address should also be accessible on your smartphone, as this will be required when you register your digital season ticket on your device. You should register your digital season ticket at home before attending the match.
I don't actually think anyone at the club knows what rhey are doing with this or how the system actually works
I agree, I think that's more miscommunication, you shouldn't need a signal or access to your emails to scan the digital ticket once it's in your wallet. I didn't even turn the NFC on my phone yesterday and I got in just scanning the digital QR code. Interesting they haven't mentioned NFC once in that latest statement.
It's crazy mate, I knew when they gave me a paper ticket with a QR code on that the NFC thing was a load of crap so I though i would test it with it turned off. No chance is the physical season ticket they issued to me for him is NFC either. Hold it up to the light and it hasn't got a chip in it.
I'm going to try that with my plastic leper card and see. Why can't they just release a communication with the actual truth?
All they had to do was introduce digital as an option. Just have a physical card and a QR code, both of which would have worked with the old scanners. If they want to get arsey about security and fraud then they may as well bring in facial recognition cameras like at airport security and then my face is my season ticket.
But if they had said at the start that digital tickets meant you could use any phone and not just nfc enabled one, I would have happily got a digital card. The only thing stopping me having digital is my phone not having the nfc technology. I'm sure everyone would rather they admit they ballsed up rather than keep doubling down and creating even more mess As my grandad said when your in a hole, it's often best to stop digging
Absolutely. There's either been a basic lack of understanding about what is required for fans to use this technology which has resulted in miscommunication or there has been some porky pies told.
The worst part of that is the poor ticket office staff are having to deal with all the hassle when they have enough on with 'normal' queries and general ticket sales
Face to face once inside the TO they are great. To get the printed ticket for yesterday took 90mins queuing and about 60 seconds once inside. Its not their fault they are understaffed. All needs sorting out from the top
They were brilliant last Monday when I went in, clearly under huge pressure and doing all they can, but as you say understaffed and hopelessly exposed by those above
