Just myself and another guy in a carriage heading from the sticks into London. He was reading a newspaper, another read/unread paper next to him. May I read one of your papers? He looked at me in alarm and snatched the spare paper up. Didn't say a word, not even, No. Next day making the return journey, the long delayed tube gave me time to realise I was on the wrong platform. Delay, rush hour, what was a fair few had become a crowded throng. Nowt else for it, about face, excuse me, sorry, thank you, and nobody, not one soul made eye contact. As I cleared the platform, the crowd had thinned out enough to catch one guy's eye. Do you do this every day? I asked Yep Ya ****in mad! Yep Mad?? Then again, after newspaper man and the floor staring zombies, my two sentence conversation may have been with only sane commuter.
I just googled it to see if I knew it and you're right its closed. I didnt ever go in but the Hua Chinese across the roundabout next to the Polish shop was a god send during covid lockdown. He let you go in and drink and smoke, it was like a little drinking den in there whilst waiting for your take away. I think that is also the roundabout with the weirdest ever combo on. Dom Polski 'Polish and Chinese Restaraunt'.
Mad?? Then again, after newspaper man and the floor staring zombies, my two sentence conversation may have been with only sane commuter.[/QUOTE] ... or the only one who spoke much English?

As you will know there are some hidden gems in London. Worldie pubs and eateries in the most bizarre places. Just gotta avoid the robbers and drug dealers!
Memo to self, search for the pic you took of Rico on the Tube reading his Arsenal v City programme, the one where you omitted the 'nal' on the cover of it. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.

Festival of archaeology in the old town this weekend. Looks like the same sort of medieval things put on for Hansa day. Take your kids and grandkids down. Can walk to the game afterwards.
I could probably wear my leather chaps for both. Edit: Yes it is. Anyone going to the game might want to avoid driving.
FAO Rovertiger, keep on the move this weekend. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
