I phoned Heart FM today, to enter their mystery prize competition.
The presenter answered and said, "Congratulations on being our first caller, all you need to do is answer the following question correctly, to win our Mystery Grand Star Prize"..

"That’s fantastic!" I called out in delight.
"Feel Confident?" The presenter asked, "It's a Geography Question."
"Well, I've got a degree in Geography from Oxford University," I proudly replied, "and I've taught Geography to A level students for the last 20 years"

"Ok then, to win our grand prize of 2 VIP tickets to a Leeds United game and to meet the players after the game, what is the capital of France?"

    "Bradford", I replied.

Not sure. Andy who is also a barman in the White Horse is doubtful for Beverley.

Hull dad's delight at reversing diabetes diagnosis and huge weight loss after joining fat-fighting football club

A Hull dad has reversed his diabetes diagnosis and dropped an astonishing six stone in weight after joining a fat-fighting football team.

Phil Jubb, 44, was 24-and-a-half stone before taking to the field, but now has a new lease on life having reduced his weight to 18-and-a-half stone in just two years.

Man v Fat Football is a programme accredited by the Football Association to help men with a BMI of 27.5 or over shed the pounds. There are more than 8,000 players across nearly 160 Man v Fat leagues across the UK, and the total amount of weight lost by the players is more than 550,000 pounds. More than 90 per cent of players taking part lose weight and get fitter.

“Hitting my 20 per cent weight loss target was a great achievement for me,” said Phil, who joined because he found he couldn't take part in activities with his two sons.

After the impressive effort, Phil says that his mental as well as physical health has immediately seen the benefit. “I've gone from being a couch potato to being more active than I've been since my mid-20s," he said. "Being able to shop for clothes in any shop was a big milestone for me.

"I knew I needed to lose the weight. Doctors were telling me about being diabetic, the potential heart problems, and six stone later I'm doing alright. I'm not diabetic anymore, I'm back playing being an active dad, playing competitive football with my eldest lad, which was a really nice moment for me."

Man v Fat Football rewards goals on and off the pitch. Encouraged by teammates to keep active, players also score points if they've lost weight. Weekly small-sided league games take place with qualified referees and players receive routine support and accountability from their teammates and experienced coaches.
