wilshere will never be in the same league as scholes. ever. not only ridiculously talented, you never hear from him once hes done his job on the pitch. we've already heard more shenanigans from wilshere off pitch than we have about scholes throughout his career. wilshere will go onto be a very good player, but to claim he can be as good as the greatest midfielder of his generation is madness bordering on psychotic only gooners are capable of.
city make it 2-0. vieira as for wilshere, whats his fav position? part of a midfield 3 or 2? i cant for the life of me understand why postman pat wants to use him as a defensive midfielder
Wilshere can play the holding role. Like Scholes he is as good in defence as he is in attack. But I think Wilshere's eye for a pass and great skill on the ball and his hunger to attack will mean that he's used as an attacking MF. But his versatility is an attribute, he can play most positions in MF
but his versatility could also hold him back. never should a player who can spot a pass and pull the strings in midfield whilst going forward be put in a disciplined role like DM. pointless. rooneys versatility hurt him for a few seasons where he was shafted out to the left whenever the gap needed to be filled. wilshere has too much creativity and ingenuity in his game to be given the unfashionable role of breaking up play and just starting attacks.
Really think their vision is really similar. The way they can both pick a pass is uncanny. I think they both like to drive forward, but wilshere is better than dribbling. However, would like to see Wilshere improve his tackling a bit, but of course he's still young and there is time!!
