Sorry for off topic and long post but not liking the new queue numbers for match tickets, logged on at 9:30 and was 13,000 in the queue. No idea what time people must be allowed on. Got on at 10:30 and nothing left for the sheff utd game.

search online though and lots on other sites. Has anyone ever got tickets from outside the spurs official? Looking at live football tickets or stub hub international. Prices have a mark up so will probably cross my fingers for coming on the ticket exchange but wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these external sites?

My knowledge of players from the Bundesliga I will confess is quite limited. But how good are Tapsoba and Ven De Ven. I know that being an upgrade on the likes of Dier and Sanchez is not asking for much, but they don’t seem to be particularly sort after, by anyone except us. The length of time that we have been haggling without any real competition should that be a cause for concern, after all our recent transfer business is hardly encouraging.

Maybe I just don’t trust us to get this right!

Tapsoba's established himself as one of the best CBs in the Bundesliga over the last few years, also made the team of the tournament in the 2021 AFCoN. Van de Ven's come off the back of an impressive debut season and went viral after a clip showed how quick he was at getting back from the opponent's half to his own box to block a shot.

Wouldn't read too much into not being sort after though, we're one of the few "big clubs" with a dire (Dier!) collective of CBs. Most others are either well stocked or fairly well stocked, such as City, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, PSG, Bayern, Madrid and Barca, so with one or two other clubs aside we'd be next in line to sign the best available CBs after those which is why I think we're seemingly facing little competition, albeit Liverpool have been linked with van de Ven.

We should be going for both (should've signed one at least by now!) but Tapsoba has to be the priority if we can only get one. He's the closest you can get to being a guaranteed successful signing and would likely compliment Romero nicely as he's a cool head to Romero's hot, whereas van de Ven is a bit more like how Sanchez was when we signed him: impressive season and showing bags of potential but isn't yet the finished article, though he is a natural lefty and can play LB if needed so the versatility's nice.

If we bag Tapsoba and keep Kane, then at the very least we'll have a first XI we can be very excited about heading into the season, especially when Bentancur returns in a few months, the squad can then be worked on in due course.

    Tapsoba Watch
Simon Rolfes has been mouthing off to Kicker about how only an "immoral offer beyond €50m" (either his words or Google Translate's) and "not under normal circumstances" would they consider accepting an offer

Anyone else reading between the lines here?

The fact he states a ballpark figure to even begin negotiations and uses the phrase "normal circumstances" does seem to state that there is a figure, and that figure is at least £42.9m based on the current exchange rate, which is technically good news given at one point there was the suggestion of £50m+ as the fee

Of course, offering £43m is unlikely to do the business, instead it's more likely £45m base with a good chunk of add ons as a chaser to actually get things under way - and the knock-on effect is likely Adarabioyo as the second CB instead of van de Ven, unless Munn & Gabbanini know something we don't and are trying to line up a few ducks early similar to what we saw in the summer of 2013

We've apparently accepted Spartan's bid for Sanchez, but he doesn't want to go there.

Can't blame him really, but at the same time I really hope he just leaves.

I think there are insurmountable problems selling to a Russian club and accepting their money.
Not that he is likely to want to go there in any circumstances.
I’d be amazed if this isn’t dead in the water already.
But some Saudi club will probably want him for around £60M

Seriously, where's the rumoured bids from Marseille or Galatasaray?

I'd prefer to sell to clubs whose ownership doesn't look like a 4d dodecahedron

Jeez I ****ing Hope Not Watch
GFFN claim we're looking to sign Montpelier winger/striker Elye Wahi (which IIRC they were claiming this time last year)

There are three reasons I hope not, both from 2021
i.) Punching his then-girlfriend in the face in a nightclub
ii.) Pressuring secondary school students to masturbate in front of him (which got him booted out of Caen's academy)
    iii.) All of the above

I am surprised at the CB holdup. I wouldn’t have thought the tour would put such a jam on recruiting a CB. Outgoings I understand a bit because Ange will have wanted to assess the players he took on tour but there’s been no movement even on Hugo. Everything seems to have stalled a bit, which is concerning. Given how quickly we moved on from Raya to Vicario I’m surprised we haven’t explored other CB options. Or maybe we have and there have just been less leaks because so many club staff were on the far side of the world.

Part of the problem appears to be we've narrowed down the potential signings, for example Kilman was reportedly dropped from the shortlist a few weeks ago, but we seem to have narrowed it down too far and haven't left ourselves with a fallback option (unless van de Ven is the fallback option for Tapsoba, anyway)

Not quite at the level of the summer of 2018 where Poch's stance was Ndombele or nobody, but neither is it at the level of the last couple of summers where Paratici had an option in place just in case they needed to be activated

I've seen Pavard could be used to bulk up the Kane deal ,if I remember correctly we had the hots for him a few years ago after he had a good world cup or euro

Pavard's only got a year on his contract, so wouldn't be bulking up significantly

One possible advantage is Bayern started playing him as a CB more often last season, as opposed to the RB he's been for them and France for the previous few seasons, so there would be less reinventing the wheel compared to a year ago

It shouldn't have done, as at least one CB should've been on tour with us or at the very least joined up part way through.

It doesn't look like we'll have one in for Shakhtar either unless something drastic happens in the next 48 hours, so any new CB will only have one pre-season game (at best) with us before the season starts. Though based off of recent reports where zero progress seems to be being made, it feels like Dier or Davies will be starting at Brentford.

Shakhtar isn’t until next Sunday and we have Barca after that so if we get at least one in over the next week they should get some decent gametime in before the season starts.

Oh snap, I’d even made plans to watch it! <laugh>

As of right now I’m not hopeful we’ll get one in even by then though, reports still seem to claim we’re crying about the fees for Tapsoba and van de Ven. How dare Wolfsburg and Leverkusen want good fees for their players!
